What is very prevalent in your life that in 10 years probably won't be nearly much a part of it.

For me it is probably coaching. I graduated 20 years ago and it seems like all I do. From 1992-2012 every summer (pretty much all year the past 3 years) I've coached either my sister's softball team or my daughter's. Currently, my daughter is a senior and has just 1 last year of varsity softball. (Assistant coach)

At school, I've coached XC (jr high and varsity) for the past 9 years. For 5 years I was the jr high and varsity track coach (boys and girls and I was the only coach). In addition I have coached my daughter in basketball for 4 years, my sister 2 years, my son in basketball for 3 years (Upward) and travel league (1 year) and am currently coaching my 3rd summer of his baseball.

Basically my son is a 3rd grader to be and I'll likely coach him in basketball through 6th grade and in baseball/track through his high school days.

Billing hours. I can't imagine I'll still be in a law firm 10 years from now.

Ditto.

I92. I know what ya mean about coaching. I did it for 10 years on a HS summer team. 6 days a week, sometimes 7, for June and July. It was a blast but it wore me out big time. We took it pretty seriously so it got intense at times and wore me out. I got out for the last 2 years but I am wanting to get back into it at some point.

I imagine in 10 years I'll have a kid or two (or three or four). So I imagine the freedom I have to do anything I want, whenever I want, will change big time. We'll do things as a family, but I won't get to travel by myself or just with my wife anytime we want.

I see two mentioned coaching so far...I hope I am not in that category. I am 6 years into coaching -- counting 2 years of summer camps. I am about ready to start my 4th season of college coaching this fall...I hope I don't cross coaching off within 10 years...especially since it's job searching time in 3 months.

It really isnt that I wanted to get out of it. At the end of each summer it took a few weeks for me to recharge that is for sure though. Just ran out of time to be able to do it, but as I said I do hope to get back into it as I do miss it.

Oh....I love the coaching but for example....

Aug-Oct Coach jr high and varsity XC

Sept-May Softball (Mid Feb-Mid May ridiculous schedule)

Late April-Late July Coach minor league baseball team including 2-3 travel tournaments taking up weekends for each

Late October-Early February Coach Upwards basketball and a separate league.

No time off and most overlap a good bit.....been doing it forever.

In ten years, I hope for my 2 and 3 yr old to be healthy and on their way to becoming educated and productive adults, for my wife and I to be healthy and happy, and for my parents to still be alive. Same for our extended family and their families. Anything else I have will just be a bonus.

I hope to have about 6-7 kids in 10 years. Multiple wives to make sure my genes have the best chance at surviving the test of time.

Lol no I didn't sorry. That's still my answer tho. In ten years not much will prob change in my life other than doing different things with my kids as they age. I'll prob be eating healthier, going to the doctor more, traveling more, and crapping less.

In ten years you will likely have a whole new perspective on life. Most young people, who think they have all the answers, will. Though, none of them will believe me now; including you. :)

I dont know about you I92, but I have to admit there were days when I had so much to do that I would not quite dread, but not be totally excited, to go to the game and coach...but as soon as I stepped in that fence there was no place Id rather be!

I'll probably have exponentially more cash in 10 years as well. I don't need all the answers when I can pay someone to solve anything I need for me.

Once again, there is no online persona, there is no "act".

Pro and college sports. I've noticed over the years that my interest declines with both each passing season.

I never would have thought of it...but since it was mentioned, it's true with me too.

I could care less about many leagues and sports. But, I have shifted more focus on a particular sport AND a couple of teams.

I also care less and less about sports as I get older. There was a time I would not miss an OSU game, even if they were playing youngstown state. I think part of it is that as you get older you have more responsibilities and life experiences, and that makes someone else's accomplishments feel less important.

When I think back to 10 years ago and what was important to me then, and what is important to me now I can not even begin to predict what will have changed for me in the next 10 years.

The only times I dreaded was when I would have an XC Meet and miss one of my daughter's volleyball games or when I had a track meet and missed my daughter successfully defending her Spelling Bee Champion....that hurt.

Basically, don't dread....just wears me out. When I coached track, there would be meets where I just stayed in a co-workers basement instead of driving home and not getting there until everyone was fast asleep...just to get up an hour before they would. That stuff sucked....but I only stopped so I wouldn't miss my daughter playing varsity softball.
