I love Akron. Suburb, not far from downtown..I'd recommend Fairlawn. Hardly 10 minutes away. You have the Akron Aeros, Cleveland is like 40 minutes away, Canton is 15. The University has a solid mid major bball team, an elite soccer team, and the football team...well they can only get better.

I'd say the best city schools are Firestone, SVSM, or Hoban.

Hoban and SVSM aren't city schools.

Doylestown is a nice little city. Unless your kids want to play football. And Jeffrey Dahmer went to elementary school there, just saying.

Hudson is indeed a great town. Great schools. Easy to get anywhere from there as well.

Akron has some nice area but if you're looking for a suburb in a great location, good school district and great new housing area
I would be looking at Green, Lake and North Canton to the south of Akron, close to both Akron and Canton and very eazy to get to Cleveland 60 minute away, local airport Akron/Canton Airport. Low crime rate a growing communities which helps in the investment of buying a home ...plus you can be close to Belly

Husdon a great area but very costly, Cuyahoge Falls area to close to Akron growing problem area. West side of Akron is to commerical growth. Bath and Brecksville area very nice but still costly and under develop for goo family living

If you want my help PM me and we can talk via cell phone..

Hudson is a nice town but your budget may determine whether you can live there or not.

I think Copley HS is decent, seems like they have things going the right way -- someone closer may be able to give more info. Copley HS is about 15 minutes from Akron.

If you don't mind a 30-40 minute drive, Medina has been a nice place as well. Their girl's lacrosse team just won their third state championship on Saturday. They field nice soccer teams too. Solid athletics all around.

Medina is a hotbed for lacrosse right now. However, other teams in the area have a better track record for the sport.

Lake (Uniontown) is a great school district as well, heading a little far from Akron and really far from Cleveland there though.

I would not send my kids to Copley.

Born and raised in Akron / Mogadore and love the area. Mogadore has good schools, great neighborhoods, close to the city. We flew back from Alaska this winter so our daughter could be born in Akron.

I'd agree with most here and steer you towards Bath, Fairlawn, Hudson, or Green though.

Pretty much every city in Ohio blows massive D except for Columbus.

With that said, I love Ohio.

My brother and his wife live in Medina. My parents live west, in Wellington (southern Lorain County).

Hudson offers you a great chance of your kids never having to see black people. Hope this helps.

I'd live in Jackson twp or North Canton or if living north, Bath. The rest of the suburbs are lame. I'd live in Stow/Munroe Falls before boring ass Hudson.
