I will hardly ever turn down free food or drinks unless I absolutely hate it. Even then I will just politely say no thanks. I think it's a little thing called manners and I was brought up better then that.

Pizza Oven Rocks!!

Just ask the group collectively, "what kind of pie do you want".... the winner gets ordered.

Jebus. I'm a straight dude, but I'd offer up the stink-hole for free food if it was pizza!

......

No, wait....I wouldn't do that. But I also wouldn't complain about it.

In general, I never complain about anything free, but the dude might have a legitimate gripe. For example, if he knew of an incentive before hand and worked his butt off only to get pizza from a place he didn't want or a topping he didn't like, he might be a little pissed off. If you had just bought pizza randomly for a group, and he complained, then he's an idiot.

Just something to consider, and you can take that to the bank.

Probably the same kind of guy who is always bitching about the people that are higher up (and more qualified) than he is not working nearly as hard and making all kinds of money. Then bitches when you share the wealth a bit...lol

^I disagree. I've had some awful pizza before. Bad ingredients can make for some bad pizza.

Seems like there is a consensus here ;) I agree, I have brought pizza to people before in my job and heard a few bitching about the toppings. Didn't bring them pizza again, or anything else.

He worked his butt off cuz this had a deadline and heads would roll if they didn't meet it. I bought the pizza b/c...
A. They did a job in an unrealisitc time frame and made everyone look good.
and
B. Your future jobs tend to get bumped to the top of the list in the machine shop when you buy them food.

I don't know the guy well enough to know if he's just a complainer or not, but if you set a free pizza down for me, I'm not gonna bitch that it wasn't the kind I want.

I get this quite often from high school kids. More complaining than thanks... If it's just an initial response I usually just chalk it up as whining and move on (they're high school kids...whining is part of who they are). If it continues I usually make it a point to let them know who paid for the food and that it didn't have to happen, and that it sure doesn't have to happen again.

That usually does it...at least for that day. :)

dancinbear wrote: I had a pizza party for my kids at the end of the 1st quarter because none of them had F's. Now I only have 11 kids because I'm an interention teacher, so it was the same group of kids that I typically have in my room for resource. One of the kids had the nerve to ask if he could bring one of his friends and when I said no, he said he would just eat lunch in the cafeteria. He ended up coming for the pizza anyways....never did say thank you.
My guess would be dancinbear, that this kid's parents would have done the exact same thing. Often times behavior like this is learned. Think back to your student teaching days. Can't you remember a few examples of kids you had that would have reacted the same way? By the way...A very Merry Christmas to you and your fiance, and also, fyi, they have filled the position in the athletic department and it isn't TW. Hallelulia!!!!!

I travel to manage projects and often buy food for the crew.
What bothers me is the assholes that have nothing to do with the project helping themselves.

It's not my favorite either, but I asked some of the guys back there what they usually get and they told me Pizza Oven. I'd have ordered Kraus' if it were for me.

I bought some of my students cookies one time, and one girl complained. They have been hounding me for donuts, but when I went that morning, there were not enough donuts left for the entire class. So I bought Amish baked cookies. The girl didn't want any b/c they were oatmeal raisin (terrific cookies) and complained about it. I told them I would buy them donuts some time, but she wasn't happy with just something.
