Are you referring to the BP part, or the Heisey part?

Terrible call to K Heisey! Not necessarily by the ways the rules are written, but by the way the high side pitches are typically called.

So is that officially quality start for Arroyo to give up 3 in 6 innings, but 5 in 6.1 innings?

I see now! I went back and read it three times and didn't pick up that the 2nd BP should have been Bruce!

Perfectly placed push bunt by Cozart, by accident!

Cozart almost took Frazier's run away by being doubled off first!

Why did Cozart get 3rd on the throwing error to first base?

Because the ball went out of play. Get 2 bases.

Heisey is a fb hitter. Let 2 go right down the middle. Then swings at a change up and pops out.

When they are trying to turn a 4-6-3 DP and the SS throws in the stands behind 1B and the runner trying to get to 1B only gets to go to 2B. Why is it any different when you are trying to get back to 1B on an outfield catch and the SS throws it in the seats behind 1B?

You get two bases from the last base accupied when the throw goes outta play. So.....in your example he was the batter, so he gets first, and then second.

No in this example the runner hadmt tagged. Was getting back to the bag and the ball went out of play. But firs base was where he started so he gets 2nd and 3rd. Same logic though.

Well that is basically what I had said. MHS asked why in a different scenario the guy only gets second base. The difference is that in the case in the reds game was Cozart had already legally occupied first base so he got third, whereas in his scenario the batter/runner hadnt already gained first base and that makes the two bases first and second that he gets.

In my example the batter is usually past first when the ball goes out of play. Doesn't that mean the he already occupied first so he should get 3rd with the two bases he gets from the last occupied base(1st). Or if it was the last occupied base(home) when the play started he would only get 2nd, but then why would Frazier get home last week when he tripled and the throw to 3rd went in the seats when he was at home when the play started, he'd be only due to get 2nd!

In your example it isnt where the runner is when it goes out of play. I believe it is what base the runner gained at the time of the throw. I did see it in a ML game I think this year where a guy got third on a play you mentioned. The fielder totallyed messed it up and didnt throw the ball to first until the runner had already passed it...it was a total bonehed move. I dont recall that Frazier play, but I am assuming he had already gained second base when the throw was made so that is why he would get home.
