Why is Ronaldo taking it last? It might not get to him. Your best player HAS to take a PK, in PKs...

Ronaldo should've taken the 4th PK for Portugal

I figured Ronaldo would have taken 3 or 4, definitely NOT 5.

What a fail by Portugal. You dont have Cristiano as one of the first 3 takers. Best player has to be guaranteed a shot in PKs. That is just pathetic coaching.

Cesc though. Un-saveable.

Inexcusable. I'd fire the coach on the spot....and I'm not kidding.

Agreed with all this.

But I would add that your best player, or PK taker in balanced teams (CR7 for Portugal, Iniesta and Xabi Alonso for Spain) need to be in the top 3. That means they will take a shot, and put the pressure on the opponent and, in a way, off their teammates.

You cant have them 5th, no matter what, and 4th is dangerous to not get a chance as well.

That line-up was a joke, Spains was about perfect. Your 2 best went 1 and 2, and you save a VERY solid goalscorer for 5th.

Agreed. I mean, its Penatlies 101. Your best takers go 1-2...1-3...or 2-3 and then your 3rd best typically goes last.

Or you just sub in 5 Center Backs and then forget your order midway through if you are Portugal lol.

Blows my mind that something so simple can be fucked up on such a big stage.

Lol. Some CB are really good at PKs. Bruno Alves, not so much. Pique and Ramos have both taken multiple PKs for their club, so its ok for Spain. Portugal? I dunno. Gotta have them behind Ronaldo though.

I want to see Germany win now. I'm bored with Spain. YES I know they're exceedingly talented. But I find myself nodding off during their games.

Its not that they used CBs, hell some teams use GKs, it just that their CBs went before Ronaldo and then Nani and Alves couldn't figure out their order.

I'm indifferent regarding a Spain/Germany final.

I like players for both teams. Part of me wants to see Spain keep the run going and another part wants the German's to ball out and take it.

Hopefully the sentiment falls this way. I missed the game today except the PKs, is it even worth watching?

Just watch ET, starting about 10 minutes in. That's when Spain starts to show up. The rest of the game was pretty much shit.

Also, is who is the first person who is going to miss one of those little "chip" PKs that are all the rage? They will forever be the goat.

I don't know, but somehow they'll play for England.
