Awesome play, and even better old school stirrups the kid is wearing.

BCSN sent in their raw footage last night, so it will be shown on ESPN from now on, instead of that cell phone camera taping the TV lol.

I think ESPN now has all 3 angles and in HD.

Do you think the catcher was intentionally flipping the ball up or is that just the way it went due to the fact that it is a catcher's mitt?

I wondered the same thing myself after I saw the replay--if he WAS just trying to keep it alive, that's a helluva heads up play in the heat of the moment!

Doubt he was flipping it up on purpose. It was just a combinatoi of things......running after the ball, diving, trying to avoid the baserunner, and the mitt itself.

Looks to me like the catcher was trying to catch it.

just got this email...please vote

Dr. Brickman's son would like to ask everyone if they could go to the following link (http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/polls) and vote for the Sports Center: "Best of the Best", for St. John's Jesuit High School's Joe Robie's diving catch. He would appreciate it if you could all ask your friends to vote also.
