Lopez has a career OBP of <.300 and a career OPS of <.700. Those are both real bad.
He's definitely not a bad backup though. He has nice range at 3rd.

No other way to put it.,..Masterson was terrible. You know who else sucks?.....maybe even worse than Marson? (if that's possible)...Carlin...He couldn't handle Masterson's slider worth sh##. Terrible technique. trying to backhand balls instead of sliding his body out to block the pitch in the dirt. SMH. Half the team out there was at AAA (or lower) a month ago. Nice that Diaz got his cup of coffee....now send him back down and bring back Jason Donald.

Is it just me, or is Masterson's velocity down considerably from last year? He seems to be sitting about 91-92 mph on that sinker this year. Thought he was closer to 95-96 last year. His biggest problem is he can't get lefties out again, which was his problem 2 years ago. Throwing that 91-92 mph sinker to lefties you better have great command. Throwing a 95-96 mph sinker gives him much more room for error.

Last year his fastball averaged 94.18 and the sinker 92.7. This year, so far, he's at 91.91 and 90.36
