First since 2008 to win the first two legs. There were a bunch of years in the early 2000's when it did happen just about every year though.

The I'll have another/Bodemeister battles remind me of the Affirmed/Alydar battles the last time there was a triple crown winner. Not saying he will win the triple crown but he does set up well for the Belmont. He doesn't have to be ahead of the pack to win and he has good closing speed. It will be interesting to see how things work out.

Definitely something I want to see before I die. I though for sure the horse in 2008 was gonna do it.

Yes. I feel the same way. The last time there was a Triple Crown winner....I was a few months old. Close a few times recently. Really wanna see it happen before I croak.

Last 2 were 2004 and 2008. Late 90s/early 2000s had it at a higher frequency, but it's been 3 different winners in 3 different races by and large for the past 7-8 years
