Preface: Going to the Reds/Cubs series in August, and will more than likely go to the Thursday night game. I have some questions:

1) Where is the best place to buy Cubs tickets online, and get them the most reasonably priced?
- I don't want to pay stupid fucking handling fees that are double the face value.

2) Where is the best place in the park to sit?
- I know it's not like GABP, where just about every seat is OK. I've been to Wrigley twice, but we've always sat in wheelchair accessible seats, b/c of the guy we went with.

3) I'm taking my wife, so do we want to try the bleachers? Are bleachers first come, first serve?

1. You could just buy them through the Cubs site. There's no way the games are sold out. Although you'll pay some fees, you'll pay those if you go through another site (like stubhub, or goldcoasttickets)
2. Avoid the upper deck reserved (pillars, pillars everywhere). For my money, the best seats are upper deck box (infield or outfield). Try to get in one of the first rows and you're still close to the action.
3. Bleachers are general admission seating, so you'll want to get there early if you want good bleacher seats. Personally I don't think those would be any better than upper deck box.

I'd say sections 409 through 432 (upper deck box infield), although if you move one section further away from home (407 or 433) it'll be cheaper by ~$10 per ticket. Probably the absolute best seats for the money would be the front of section 420 or 421.

I always get mine through the Cubs website. They are rarely selling out this year, you could also take your chance with a scalper and they will probably be under face value.

Sections 200 and back, you have a good chance of sitting in front or near a steel column, temporarily obstructing your view at times.

The bleachers are a big party. They're also the toughest tickets to get. If it's just you and her, I'd sit there for sure. You can purchase those online too.

Also, if you decide to go with StubHub I'd say wait to buy tickets until closer to the game date. Ticket prices usually fall as brokers try to unload tickets near the date. Plus, the Cubs won't be anywhere near the race for the playoffs so it won't be a hot ticket.

Yeah, the Cubs aren't cheap. Any of those sections $43 and lower could put you behind a pillar, FYI

Yeah, I've been there twice, and have always been in the Terrace Reserved, up under the upper level seating b/c of handicapped access.

I just sat about 10 rows back in section 17 and the tickets were under $100

If you pay any more than that you're doing it wrong.

But I didn't buy the tickets and don't know where my friend bought them, so I'm really of no help. Just saying I'd definitely pay $90 to sit right behind home plate than pay $45 to sit in the bleachers.

Check craigslist. Last time I went to Wrigley for a Braves series I got tickets to all three games off there. They were from three different people so I just had to figure out how to pick them up, but they were cheaper than paying processing fees.

I always get my tickets when we go there off craigslist the night before the game for way cheaper then stub hub. I would get bleacher seats and wait in the line until the gates open then you can get 1st or 2nd row bleachers which I like alot better then high infield seats plus batting practice from the bleachers is awesome for catching a ball.

I'm going up with some friends for all 4 Reds-Cubs games in August, so I'm in the same boat. I think were doing bleachers Thursday and Sunday and then wherever the other 2 games. I sat upper deck down the third base line in the 4th row for one of the Reds-Cubs games last year and it was great. Scalped them that Sunday for I think 30 each, but bleachers were going for 50+ and they weren't budging.

Just talked to a buddy from college that lives a couple blocks from Wrigley. He said he has a "friend in the ticket biz," and he will find us some tickets. Only question is price, but we'll see. It'll suck if he goes and gets me tickets, and they end up being more than Stub Hub, b/c then I'll feel obligated.

She'll complain about sitting on bleachers. We're going to the night game, so I look to get pretty fuckered up before hand.

Closest tickets to $35 for the Friday game on stubhub are in the 500 level except for one set for 36.95. That third link in my post is in section 209. You are either incorrect or you have your own ticket oak in your back yard.
