Show me any good linemen in the pros today, and I’ll show you someone who spent his childhood beating up dweebs.
Bullying sounds terrible, but bullies make great soldiers,” said Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
So kick the shit out of those little pussies. Uncle Sam and the NFL thank you.

Maybe if parents hardened the fuck up they wouldn't raise pussies who can't defend themselves.

I think it's a fine line... I don't want to be soft but I certainly don't want to be a jerk.

My issue is the changes trying to be made within the confines of the rules. Nobody wants cheap shots, so we call them illegal. However, the road we are on, open field tackles are soon to be done away with.

Do you go out of your way to make your kids tough? How old are they?

The comma in your thread title is unnecessary.

Don't have kids - but this is no different than the "everyone gets a prize for participating" bullshit.

1) not having kids, your opinion really doesn't count to me.

2) no it's not.

Are your kids pussies, is this why you're getting worked up?

I have kids and am not in favor of coddling them. I do believe in building them up, be it in sports, education or life in general. Mistakes happen. Disappointments occur. But you can't cry about it.

A good friend once told me, "Prepare the child for the path; not the path for the child." Works for me.

Remember to keep it civilized, guys. Everything so far is fine but I can see this spinning out of control.

As for the topic, I think bullying is a serious problem. I do think that kids need to be taught to stick up for themselves but only in the event that someone is bullying them. If my kid turned out to be a bully he'd be getting an ass whipping from me.

I really don't understand bullying and I especially can't understand parents that know their kids are bullies and just don't give a shit. I mean, I guess at least with the kid doing the bullying he's getting the rush "being in power" or whatever. But the parents? I'm guessing they were just bullies in the past that never had someone stick up for themselves and turn the ass kicking on them.

I'm guessing the kids act differently at home and the parents don't know. Also, i bet a lot of them stick their heads in the sand if they hear negative shit about their kids.

Where did I say you couldn't have an opinion? It just doesn't count, that's all.

There is no reason someone without kids can't have an opinion on raising kids. It might "not count" with you but that doesn't make it invalid.
