Was looking through some stats, and I see Yonder is up to .293 avg. Good for him.

Leake has always been good...now all of a sudden he's sucking...what's changed? The catcher.

Perhaps the league has figured him out?

Yeah, I mean, blaming Mesoraco for Leake's shit season is a huge stretch and pretty weak. Mes isn't the guy tossing meatballs. He's also getting the calls from the dugout.

Leake isn't spotting his pitches, like a soft tosser needs to. He needs to live on the outside corner and keep the ball down. That's when he was at his best last year.

No excuse for Meso there.

Not a good throw, but you've got to make that play if you're Meso.

I'm not blaming Mes for Leake's numbers...I'm saying you can't say the reason the Reds are 2-11 when Mes pitches is because he catches Leake.

That play right there is a big reason why they're 2-11 in his starts...catch the fucking ball

Yeah Bourn is out by 10 feet with either a better throw or a better effort from catcher.

I mean the throw was bad, but it basically hit Meso in the glove. He just whiffed.

Wasn't a good throw but it didn't have to be. Plenty of time to catch, turn, and tag Beeyoorn out

I hope Joe West is behind the plate tomorrow.

Yeah, Mes shoulda had that. But he's a 23 year old rookie catcher. He's going to struggle. And the 2-11 record isn't his fault. Seriously.

Reds really need this one with Cubs beating the Cards right now.

I disagree that he had plenty of time. I think that's a big reason why he didn't catch it because he tried to get the glove to the plate too fast, but even if he did pull it off as fast as he tried I think it is questionable whether the tag beats the foot to the base! Bruce got an assist earlier on the pitcher's bonehead try for a double, but his throw didn't look very fundamentally good. On this one, if you throw it on a hop you are at the mercy of the catcher catching the hop - should have went for a no hop throw.

What's with the color of the grass in the infield? Looks like they may have had the tarp on excessively.
