So, with the early reports about Chris "Birdman" Anderson's house being targeted for kiddie porn, it got me thinking of what is probably the worst crime a person can be investigated for.

What's the worst thing that a person can be investigated for as far as social stigma goes?

I don't think it is so easy. While murder is the worst as you end someone's life, it doesn't necessarily have as bad of a social stigma as child pornography.

Murder is the answer to that question.
What's the worst thing that a person can be investigated for as far as social stigma goes?
The other three are all worse than murder (as far as stigma goes), not sure which would be the worst.

Really child rape would be the worst crime or anything against children is really bad even if innocent.

What about combining all four? Going into a school, holding everyone at gunpoint, raping kids while filming it and then blowing yourself up with a room of kids while yelling something terrorist-like. Four for four, baaaaa-beeeee!

Sure, I guess this really takes away the whole "falsely accused" part, but it'd make cinematic psychoticness the like people haven't seen since that Serbian Film deal.

It would be easy to clear you name for kiddie porn. While it's potentially the most sickening of the group, there is hard evidence of it and you either did it, or you didn't.

I think it would be worst to be wrongly accused of murder. Rape would be tough too...but you don't have the potential of a life sentence or death penalty for that.

Very tough question. Murder is the most serious CHARGE to face, but the others, as mentioned, get you seriously abused (or worse) in prison.

Assuming you are acquitted, I don't know. Wrongfully accused of terrorism or murder can probably be explained away to a rational person willing to listen. When it comes to rape and kiddie porn, people are less rational and willing to listen IMO. Even kiddie porn, maybe your router was hacked or other relatively benign/innocent explanations.

So that would leave rape. I guess my approach to this question is this: women you would date or work with, and even male colleagues, are going to assume that, at best, you pissed off some girl enough to accuse you of rape.

You'd have to expand on the murder charge more. If it's just some random person and you had an alibi and lack of evidence that's entirely different than having been accused of murdering your wife.
