I know it's just the OSU Schools Newspaper, but that would be pretty awesome if he only misses 2 conference games

Luckily for Buckeye fans, this is true.
The injury didn't turn out to be as bad as originally expected.

I odn't think anyone understood the extent of his injury (or lack thereof). A broken back sounds horrible, however, there are people with broken vertebraes who walk the streets daily. My uncle had "back pain" for several years and finally saw a doctor and realized he had a few broken vertebrae, among other things.
The injury didn't cause him to be red ridden, or in a cast. He just had to rest while it healed. Some peoples bones heal faster than others.
Now will he be back in 3 weeks? No one knows that right now. But I certainly wouldn't be surprised.

I agree with you. But word from the program is that he will. I'm not sure if they've publicly announced anything yet, but they expect Turner to be ready in three weeks. Will he play against Indiana? That will probably be a game day type decision.
I'm glad for the kid if nothing else. This was very unfortunate for such a good player, or any player for that matter.

Evan Turner, by all accounts, is just as outstanding as a person as he is a basketball player.
This is terrific news and well deserved.
My God but that injury was scary to watch.

I would say Turner's was worse because white kid popped right back up and laughed it off. Turner was down for a bit and definitely not laughing.

Turner's was so scary because he landed so completely flat on the floor and, at first, it even looked like he might have hit his head. Then he writhed in pain, which made it all worse to watch.

Turner was on the bench last nite, jumping with the team. He was walking normal and didn't show any affects of the injury. Now that is obviously nothing close to actually playing.
Again, as I stated from day one, as serious as this injury sounds, its not near as bad as it sounds.
All that being said, with his FUTURE of $$$, its not worth taking any kind of risk, Matta said as much as well.
But I do fully expect him back before the 8weeks that was mentioned early. That was a worst case scenario.
