The Chronic was the best rap album all around.

I dont know who the best was...but my fav was always tupac.

I knew nothinga bout him.....and one day in HS was the store and saw his Strictly for my N.i.G.G.A.Z album and thought..what the hell and got it.

You gotta break it down.
Lyricist would be Big L, Nas, or Slug.
Straight flow to Busta or twista
Production Dre or Ant
Overall tough call

Psssht. Wut?

Flo Rida and B.O.B. are GOAT.

/sarcasm

The only rappers I really like today are Eminem and for some reason I like Pitbull (even though that's more pop).

They put on an amazing show. They're up there with The Roots in regards to quality live hip hop acts. As already said, most rap concerts sound terrible live.

Also, Felt (Murs and Slug) put together some nice collaborations. I wish they would do more.

IMO, Biggie is the best ever.

As for current rap, I'm not much into it. I like Wayne's mixtapes and I've recently picked up the new Tyga album....its decent.

Best album? That's another cluttered discussion. Too many to list....Illmatic, The Low End Theory, Ready To Die, It Takes A Nation..., Liquid Swords, Enter The 36 Chambers, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Paid In Full, Raising Hell, NIGGAZ4LIFE, The Chronic, etc....and the list goes on.

You'd almost have to compile a top 10 list.

Been to two atmosphere shows. The shit. I was like the only one yelling for sunshine as an encore and he actually played it. Was fucking awesome.

And the murs and slug tributes albums were bangin.

I gotta go with the Butterfinger wrapper. Succulent content and the packaging isn't overstated or gaudy...

IMO:

Top Tier
-Nas
-Eminem
-Tupac
-Notorious B.I.G.
-Dr. Dre
-Rakim
-KRS-One

2nd Tier:
-Talib Kweli
-Common
-Grandmaster Flash
-Ice Cube
-Ghost Face Killa/Wu Tang
-Eazy-E

Probably forgot 1 or 2.

Eminem had fallen for me, but his last albumn kicked ass. I obviously like his stuff a little more than you.

Plus, I was saying Ghost is second tier, but was including his work with Wu Tang. I wasnt really listing Wu Tang. If I was, higher up, cause they are probably a top 3 rap group for me, but Id have to think about groups.

Nas is definitely up there for me as well, but not #1.

Lil' B isn't even a rapper and we both know that.

Run-DMC and Public Enemy would be in that discussion/tier as well IMO. Gangstarr, De La Soul and EPMD in a 2nd tier.

Eminem hasn't put out a good album since The Marshall Mathers LP.

He needs to resume using drugs. That's when he did his best work.
