No, they have that view of him because they know the type of views he espoused in his preaching.
May he rest in peace, but i'm not going to go so far as to say i think he did "many good things."
The whole "prosperity gospel" is BS, and he's just one of many televangelists who have used it to their advantage. They enrich themselves through it, nothing more, nothing less. The whole idea that God will reward his followers with material riches is disturbing, and un-Christian, IMO. Such a BS American way of looking at it. I'm sure the Christians throughout the world suffering of hunger and poverty would disagree with that sentiment. The fact that he claimed that they would be rewarded ON THIS EARTH with material success is ridiculous.
I have no real issue with the idea that people will be rewarded some type of material wealth here on earth for a good reason.
If everyone who has a certain belief system lives in total poverty and appears to anyone with half a brain to be in squalor and misery, how receptive would you be to whatever they tell you? If a homeless guy comes up to you and evangelizes, are you honestly telling me that your first thought isn't something like, "Yeah, God loves you so much that you live in a cardboard box and haven't showered in a year"?

This website is populated with some of the most immature, disrespectful, spoiled brats masquerading as adults that I have ever seen. What miserable lives you must lead. If I had any respect for you, I would actually pity you.
For once I agree with you.

No, but I think everyone on here was told at some point that, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it.
