While I think it's extreme to say the man was a piece of shit or is rotting in hell, there is nothing immature or disrespectful about openly criticizing a man who many believed to have profited off the faith of Christians. Also as I think Cbus stated, the entire idea God will reward you with earthy wealth if you donate to Oral Roberts is so much the antithesis of Christianity, that most of the criticism in this thread is rightly deserved.

If you're referring to me, frankly I could give a rats ass what you think of me. My life certainly isn't miserable and I'm not going to lose a moment's sleep over it.

Now on the other hand if you have any respect for Roberts, after all he has done, using the name of Christ to bilk money--many times from those who can least afford it, then you are the one who needs pity.

In regards to the reported posts I've seen from this thread, Oral Roberts isn't being "attacked" because he was a preacher. He's being "attacked" for what he did while being a preacher.

I'm a big fan of the word "sinister", too. Mainly because I'm left-handed and one of the lesser definitions of the word is "situated on the left side". And Sinister is a pretty decent European death metal band. I'm listening to their song "Art of the Damned" ( right now thanks to this thread!
I, too, loved the choice of the word "sinister". How appropriate. Heretic, I, too, am a lefty and perhaps that definition explains much to me... ;)
