What does that have to do with active military people? You saying armed forces are dumber with their money than the rest?

Also families that work at mcdonalds also struggle. Should they also not have to pay income tax?

"Give them back the money that was taken from their revenue many years agao and see where they are at.

It may be different or they may still be straddled with high pension costs that can't be sustained with shrinking revenue forecasted to continue."

You have 6 figures as an E5. I take it "hubby" brings in most of the money. Way to brag about that.

So..let me get this right. You have 6 figures saved up, and are claiming that active duty should get paid more just because young people, in general, aren't smart with their money?

You have proven that the military pays enough. You have also proven my statement earlier, that if they are struggling to make it, its nobody's fault but their own.

No actually we don't mix money and we just got married. I love how you guys use quotes for hubby that's funny. He's also an E5 but I make more than he does cause I've been in longer and received a signing bonus.

For one I'm not young and I save all the money I can. I'm not saying it's not their own fault to be struggling especially if the spouse doesn't work.

You should talk with Zwick, he's experiencing this same issue right now. Might be able to help him through it.

Education
Health care
Extra kickbacks/benefits from various companies around the country.

Education and health care are definitely big ones, especially when you get housing assistance as well...

Imagine paying for all of those out of pocket with no help.

The education is definitely a bonus.

Health care is a joke in my experience. I'd rather pay to go to a Dr's office then deal with the corpsman who don't want to treat you properly.

But it's not just Dr's visits... I know for a fact that you guys get scripts with mostly no co-pays as well.

We don't pay for meds. Dependents I think do. Not sure on that. We don't pay for anything medical wise but it's terrible care.

A definite real gripe. /first world problems.

god forbid you get a snippy corpsman when you go for FREE health care. Probably snippy at you because you're in his office ever 5 min for every little thing/trying to slack off at work.
