Heading down to the museum from Columbus to see the Pompeii exhibit. Any 'nati residents have a lunch recommendation in that area of the city?

Pass. I'll also pass on the inevitable "Montgomery Inn" call as it is 1) not in the area and 2) shit.

I don't know of much over by the museum, I've only really been out that way a few times and never to eat. How far of a drive from that area would you be willing to venture for good food?

Primavista is a pretty nice Italian place up on the hill. There isn't much close to Union Terminal if you're looking for something cool. There is a LaRossas and some fast food joints around there. Skyline is up on the hill as well. If you're willing to go over into downtown then the options open up significantly.

I'd prefer to avoid downtown. We could stop anywhere near either 71 or 75 coming down from the north.

I'd eat at Skyline if I'm close to home, work, or a friends house.

Okay, no problem. I really only had one recommendation for downtown (Arnold's) anyway. A lot of the better food joints, at least IMO, are in the Hyde Park area off of 71. Arthur's is probably the best place that isn't terribly inconvenient to get to.

Quick directions are:

Exit 71S at Dana.
Left at the light.
Go through 2 intersections, the 2nd will put you on to Observatory.
Turn left on Edwards.
Arthur's will be on your right just past Erie.

Yeah, they closed down a few years ago. Unfortunately it was before I got a chance to try them out. I heard great things.

You ain't kidding. City Barbeque is essentially a fast food joint and it makes Montgomery Inn taste like dog food. Well, actually, Montgomery Inn makes Montgomery Inn taste like dog food.

I only eat coneys so the chili is nothing more than a condiment to me.

If you ever make it to Sharonville/Fairfield area just of 275 at the Route 4 exit you must try Smoq. Locally owned and great food. "If it's Legal, We'll smoke it"

That's all I'll eat from Skyline. I have found that the watery level varies per location.

Thought so. I think part of his salary was the mentions and ads on WLW when he was there. I even broke out in the BUrbanks bar b que song.
It was pretty good from what I remember. Great ribs and the baked beans were amazing too.

As the accountant for 10 Skylines I say Skyline :) And whoever talks bad about Skyline can GFY.

Arthur's is a great Burger place though, definitely recommend there. I drive past Union Terminal every day and there's really not much directly by there. Arthur's is a good choice, as is The Pub in Rookwood, its not far off 71 at all. English style restaurant with lots of drink choices and good food.

Yeah, The Pub is good. So is Rusty Bucket. And Wine Guys. Those are about the only nice places I can think of in Rookwood.

Was just at the rusty bucket last night, pretty decent. If you want the single greatest burger of your life, go to Terry's Turf Club. Out of the way, but the best restaurant in the city.
