A little annoyed with cabrera always swinging at pitch one...no matter what it is or where it is. Teams scout that stuff and the first inning was proof of that.
Hitting 300 is all well and good, but OBP is important too. Duncan is hitting 60 points lower but reaches base more often than Astrubel.
It's OK to be aggressive...but not every time up at the plate...on the first pitch.

Wow Torii Hunter. The scores for this series are better suited for the soccer league.

Footwedge saves the day!
When I first found this thread I had a funny déjà vu feeling of a classic in-game thread once started by good old Darbypitcher!
I am really surprised how well the Tribe is doing so far.

BRF..I'm gonna retire as thread starter at 1-1. I think too many tribe fans here think I'm bad Karma.BRF;1156953 wrote:Footwedge saves the day!

1-1 is not too bad. Give it another shot, IMO.Footwedge;1156961 wrote:BRF..I'm gonna retire as thread starter at 1-1. I think too many tribe fans here think I'm bad Karma.
Don't listen to Mr. 30O. He is a major troll stalker from down in my neck of the woods! Ha ha!

At least start a series thread, and not a fucking game by game thread.

Yeah, but you could have at least started a Game 2 and 3 series thread. As it is, you must start the next SERIES thread.Footwedge;1157039 wrote:Bud...the first game was already played. As smart as I am....as cool as I am....as good looking as I am.....I just can't turn back the clock.

Just hanging bro. Don't listen to BRF...he's old, senile, and in need of a new depends. Those Orrville folks talk big, but when 300 invited them to come see me at their pride of the dump Parkview Lanes, none of them showed up. All talk they are.
Nice bustin' your chops, now return to being a interwebz know-it-all.

Missed it all due to work. Glad they finally got to Santana. He has been bad this season.

Derek Lowe's ball was dropping off the table all day. For the record, I thought picking him up this off season was pie in the sky. He had a really bad year. You never know.Laley23;1157182 wrote:Missed it all due to work. Glad they finally got to Santana. He has been bad this season.

What a solid win today....and too bad we couldn't have gotten just a bit more offense yesterday... the pitching has been tremendous. Lowe has been a great acquisition so far, and I expect him to be, now that it is obvious that he still has good stuff. We might consider Masterson to be the ace of the staff, but grizzled, old veterans like Lowe know how to pitch and will keep you in the game even on nites when they don't have their best stuff and give the team a chance to win.
Some observations...
Duncan is really pressing ...even though he did get one home today he still left 3 guys on the bases.
I like Kipnis in the 2 hole and I think he should stay there even when Choo gets back.
The Texas Rangers come to town next weekend...and they need to be cooled off... they are 16-5 and lead the league in pitching with a 2.79 ERA.

Lowe has been amazing. Good series win with very good pitching. Gomez deserved better.
BTW LaPorta, Chisinhall, and Crowe are really hitting well in Cbus. And Damon may be in the line up tuesday in Chicago.
