And the bullpen collapse is complete. Pestano gives up a game-tying home run to Yuniesky fuckin' Betancourt.

Can never rely on a bullpen from year-to-year.grodt;1144363 wrote:Sipp needs to get his shit together. Amazing that a bullpen that was so solid last year is struggling this year with pretty much the same guys.
And Choo delivers with a 2 run double.

Jairo Asencio has been our best BP pitcher this season.
Also, Jason Donald, no matter the circumstances should never play 3B again.

Only 2 back!! Poetic justice that Tomlin does not get the win.

Hopefully the offense keeps it going. Tribe needs to sort out the bullpen.
Tony Sipp has been a disaster this year. Get the sweep tomorrow.

I lol'd during the offseason at people who said this team could make games 7 innings.hoops23;1144373 wrote:Can never rely on a bullpen from year-to-year.
Unless you have a track record like Mariano, it's a joke to ever rely on a bullpen to be the strong suit of a team heading into the season.
The Royals are just as expected though, good hitting but just awful pitching. It really is amazing how bad they pitch every season. You think they'd get lucky at least once, but I bet they've been in the bottom 10 in the league in team ERA for a decade now.

I seriously think the only consistent reliever from year to year...ever...is #42. Mo Rivera might be the only guy in the history of baseball lol.

Nice to see the Indians get the win. Most Cleveland teams would allow the final nail to be placed in the coffin in those type of games.
Say what you want about Hannahan, but I couldn't help but lol at this video https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150788315187603.
He was ready to fight, it brought the lulz.

Seems somewhat uneven when Ubaldo gets a suspension for plunking a guy who he's had a history with....but not even an ejection for Sanchez....apparently only Cleveland pitchers are not allowed to "miss, in".
As far as BPs go, putting together a bullpen is HUGE...and historically that is bourne out. You simply cannot contend without a bullpen that does its job well. A bullpen can negate, in one inning , all the good that a starter has done in seven. From year to year, the people in the pen may falter, and adjustments have to be made....but building a pen is a must. You can't ignore it.
In that regard, you have to give the Indians props for paying proper attention to the bullpen...and most certainly...is one of the strengths of this team, even if it has had some rough moments in the early going.
In fact, you have to give the front office some credit for assembling the starting rotation too, considering the injury to Carrasco and the MIA of Carmona/Hernandez...and for picking up a seasoned veteran like Derek Lowe to anchor it and give it some stability.

The front office stated very clearly in the begining of the Blueprint For Success that they would build this team on pitching. There's no mistake that the lack of power and overall offense is a result of this effort. If they don't do a good job in building pitching they will have no success whatsoever and be a complete failure.

When Perez is locating he's very tough. But when he is all over the place without a clue, he should be yanked immediately.HitsRus;1144389 wrote:Pretty damn nice job by Chris Perez.

I don't think he blew anything. I think he pitched several innings against the Blue Jay in Game 1 and they finally got to him. Could be mistake though.Glory Days;1144435 wrote:Sanchez is a racist!
