.............MSU's Derrick Nix was arrested Monday night in East Lansing on charges of operating a vehicle with the presence of drugs and marijuana possession, according to East Lansing 54-B District Court records. Tom Izzo has suspended him indefinitely from the team. Operating with the presence of drugs is a 93-day misdemeanor, and marijuana possession is a misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of a year in jail. Nix is out on bond and has 10 days to appear in court for an arraignment.
Tom Izzo couldn't be reached on his phone, but he submitted this comment through Matt Larson: “Based on the information we have received, Derrick Nix has been suspended indefinitely from our basketball team, and his future with our program is uncertain. He made an irresponsible decision that has put his future with our program in serious jeopardy.”..................

Not a good move!!!!

Sucks for MSU. Last year, Nix transformed himself from a fat underachiever with attitude issues to a respectable post player who could at times be a legit force.

Nixed from the MSU team.

Before the season I predicted that Izzo would have to dismiss another player again this year during the season. I was almost correct.

When you choose to get behind the wheel of a vehicle under the influence, any influence, you stepped completely over the line.
