When the congressmen decide to vote for what they think is right instead of going along with their party, things will get passed then

Typical liberal: you believe ANYTHING, no matter how ridiculously bad and over-reaching it is, is better than nothing. Even w/o a public option or buy-in this piece of garbage effectively gives government bureaucrats control over health programs and decisions. Is that really what you want?

I have no problem with actual health care reform. This is like using a howitzer to kill a bug.

I love how you call him Lieberdouche. You're a nut derek--seriously, you're a prime example of why this country is messed up. Lieberman is doing what he thinks is right--which is what they should all be doing. You and most others are way too caught up in party politics.

The bill isn't even the same bill it was 3 months ago and he has every right to change his opinion once he learns more about it--you don't take a side until you vote.

Alright, then give me a permanent ban from the politics forum if it's going to be that lame.

Don't care. He made the right decision NOW. Perhaps someone explained to him how much it would cost and that we simply can't afford to do a buy-in AND make dramatic cuts to programs like Advantage and realistically maintain services and keep costs down.

Whatever the reason and however he got there -- he's made the right call now.

no offense, but you dont know what you are talking about.

he's came out on record saying he's now against the buy-in to medicare for 55-64, when 3 months ago he was for it.

If you truly believe universal health care will lower health care costs...then you have paid ZERO attention to any country or state in the US that has ever tried universal health care.

Perhaps he's the first one to wake up and realize that the country doesn't even want it. Y'know....that whole "represent the people" thingy.

Didn't you really intend for this to read, "Yes...let's just keep our heads in the sand and let government-run health care bankrupt the country"?
