You are somewhat correct. I knew the first question that I answered but the second I suspected Bohnam so i texted a friend for confirmation and posted it after he got back with me. So in a way you could say I googled.

3 a.) I was going to say the Beatles 1 in 2000, but i was reminded of Adele / 21 which probably sold 20 million

3 b.) oldest one i can think of would be a Beatles album, Sgt Pepper probably

I believe this is The Kinks, but no idea what they were called before that.
