Not being a comedian does not prevent one from making jokes. Not a difficult concept to grasp. Maher's show is nothing like Colbert and is, in fact, 50 minutes of the same shtick Rush and the others do it's just book-ended by 5 minutes of stand-up.

And conservatives did go start their own network. It's called Fox News.

Assumption does not = hypothesis.

But even if it did my point still stands. Young earth creationists will never, ever be swayed by evidence saying they are wrong. That makes them in fact not scientists. Because even Dawkins, if shown verifiable, repeatable proof of God would change his mind and say that there is a God. Not so with many, perhaps most, theists. They have faith even in the face of mounting evidence against their beliefs (anti-evolution for example) and to quote Nietzsche "Faith means not wanting to know what is true".

Ok so the free market thing to do would be to stop crying about the MSM and make your network more popular.

You know absolutely nothing about science if you believe "real scientists" don't start with assumptions.

You do know there are plenty of PhD'd geologists, astrophysicists, biologists, etc that believe in a young earth correct? So, just because of their belief you, the great IWP, declares they are not scientists?

Please show the proof of billions of years that has been shown to the young earth creation PhD scientists that they have rejected.

As to your 2nd point, Fox News already is more popular than any of the other news channels and it isn't even close.

LMAO at your semantic backpedal. A hypothesis is nothing more than an assumption that can be tested. Not all assumptions are a hypothesis, but all hypotheses ARE assumptions until proven otherwise (and, technically, often never proven one way or the other but merely ASSUMED true with a given level of confidence).

And they're laughed at not because they believe in a creator but because for thousands of years they've been consistently wrong about science and punished and killed those who thought differently only to later accept the truths uncovered. Rotation of the planets, earth not being the center of the universe, the world not being flat, evolution, etc. If theists would stop fighting scientific progress and the intellectual growth of our species there would be no perceived mockery because it wouldn't be necessary.

Ah, so the Conservative creed must be to simultaneously brag about being represented by (easily) the most successful news station, while complaining bitterly about those less-successful ones that are more Liberal.

But that's the entertainment of politics on this site for me. Laughing at all the silly, overly-partisan people who constantly blast people on one side of the aisle while ignoring how their side is no less guilty of anything.

Yeah, but what about the Sunday shows on NBC, ABC, and CBS? I have friends who watch those and say to me "well Obama is trying to fix the country but the Republicans won't let him." There is definitely an overall liberal bias in the news world. Just because Fox is the most successful station on cable doesn't mean there isn't.

I'd agree there is some sort of overall bias towards the left. As in it's not a perfect utopian 50/50. I'd disagree that it's anything near where the "whiny bitch" demographic puts it due to simple personal biases due to being over-partisan.

I read right-wing people here complaining constantly because other than Fox, everyone is on the left. I have a friend who's as left as they are right who thinks MSNBC is the best choice because they're the only one who "gets it". I think both him and the people here are operating under flawed arguments because their partisan nature makes them look at any opinion or viewpoint opposing theirs as flawed and wrong...and therefore, to them, it's a bias or "media conspiracy" to broadcast those views as viable or correct.

I'd imagine the actual truth as far as the media to be a lot more centrist than hardcore Rs or Ds would ever admit. But anyone actually admitting their personal biases might be clouding their judgment on this would possibly eliminate a "we're soooo persecuted!!!" battlecry, so that ain't happening.
