Taylor was mostly a complete non factor last night. He turns it over way too much and can't hit an outside shot to save his life. He will never make it in the nba.

Okay so Craft is praised because Taylor didn't have a good offensive game...but Taylor shuts down Craft, and he didn't have a good game?

How OSU fans can still overrate Craft just because he's "that white guy who plays really hard defensively" is hilarious

This is stupid. He shoots almost 40% from 3 this year. He's cut down on his turnovers. He's a freak athlete for a PG, he'll play in the NBA.

Craft was the reason OSU lost. Awful decisions in the 2nd half, IMO. This included the last "selfish" play, trying to miss the FT. I admire his risk-taking to try that, but he absolutely bungled it...

Disagree with this for no other reason than it shouldn't come down to some bullshit attempt from the line down 2 with a couple on the game clock lol. OSU came out flat, went into panic mode and made piss poor shot selections, that's why they lost, not because Craft tried to pull something out his ass with a couple ticks left and about .08% chance of success lol

Thats exactly what I expected him to do.

Huh? 3 points over season average is "shutting Craft down"?

Yeah, I agree. It's not like he has won any awards for his defense or anything....

No way. Thomas and Sully going 8-33 lost the game, that and Thomas not being able to stay out of foul trouble.

He was 4-11. Played AWFUL in the 2nd half. When your season average is 8 points, its not that hard to be 3 points over it when you shoot 11 times lol
LJ;1133820 wrote:Yeah, I agree. It's not like he has won any awards for his defense or anything....
Okay? He's a good defender, but he's not even a top 10 PG in the country. There's more to being a point guard than playing really hard defense.

As crazy as it sounds, Thomas being in foul trouble was the difference, because he played some really good d against trob.
Osu lost this game. It's not Kansas winning it. Osu absolutely blew it. They had the game and threw it away.

If there was any shutting down being done it was Craft shutting down Taylor, 6.5 pts below his average on 3-11 shooting. Get a clue.

Letting someone go over their season average is in no way "shutting them down". Sorry.

really "hard" defense? No, I would call it really "good" defense. He may not be a top 10 overall PG, but he does what he does very very well. He's not relied on to create shots. Thad Matta PG's rarely are. He will probably be a 15 PPG type player his last 2 years.

Agreed. I thought his D against T Rob at the beginning of the game (before he was in foul trouble) was acceptable.

Thomas is a guy that relies so much on an offensive rhythm that he just never had a chance to get it going.

Lol take everything so literally are we?

Okay maybe not "shutting down" but he wasn't a factor in the 2nd half and that was all Taylor. Like I said, I'll take 10 players in college basketball over Craft at the PG position. A hustle player who can't shoot or shoot free throws but plays really good defense isn't what I would take in my point guard. I'll take Taylor and win a national championship.

It was a good game but a tough loss to end a great season. When games come down to the wire like that, the team that catches the breaks normally wins. Well there's no doubt Kansas was on the receiving end of the breaks last night (Robinson getting an extra foul, Fluke play at the end of the 1st half, etc.) and the Bucks just couldn't make the shots they needed down the stretch.

A Final Four berth for a team that probably shouldn't have made one isn't a bad end to the season. A lot of hope for next season even if both Sully and Thomas leave.

Robinson getting an extra foul? Huh?

And that wasn't a fluke play..OSU shot it with like 6 seconds still on the clock, KU got the rebound and went the length of the court in 4 seconds for the layup...wasn't a fluke play at all lol

Haha

they'll beat Kentucky, why you ask?

In '08 the NYG needed a miracle catch to beat the unbeatable Patriots. That same year KU needed a miracle shot by Chalmers to win the title. This year the NYG made a run and won the Super Bowl when they didn't look like they would all year. This year, the same will be said for Kansas!

Kansas is going to get blasted by Kentucky. No way in hell if Kansas wants to run they will win. Now if they slow it down they got a chance but If Taylor can't hit the jumper he's going to be a non factor. Considering Anthony Davis is waiting for him in the lane

Let's just go ahead and be honest. If Craft's name appeared on the back of a KU jersey you'd be blowing him, and you wouldn't find 3 let alone 10 players you'd take over him. Fact.

What would have been Robinson's first foul (and would've given him 2 fouls early), was called on someone nowhere near the play...The announce team talked about it a good amount. Wasn't a fluke play? Thompson's hand was about an inch from sending it off the backboard....9 times out of 10 the team with possession holds out for the last shot in that situation.

OSU got taken out of their gameplan in the 2nd half and Matta probably left Thomas out longer than he should have (not that he was having a great night shooting though). Buckeyes settled for way too many bad shots in the 2nd half instead of moving the ball around and finding the right shot which had been key to their success in the 1st half. Again, tough loss that could've gone either way.
