Who would win ? Both schools are similar in size and are close to each other . I would love to see this matchup and would travel to see it.

I would love to see this game . Dont know if they ever played but what a rival this would be . Aliquippa still has several players in the NFL and has put out many NFL stars. They get far in the WPIAL every year and have several titles in PA . They are both similar in school size.

I used to live in PA and Aliquippa was in our league. I lived in New Brighton. Nice little town. Stuck right in between two holes. Beaver Falls and Aliquippa. lol. But both of those towns had amazing football teams. Aliquippa is a tough tough neighborhood though. lol!

The home of Mike Ditka! lol! I watched the 30 on 30 for him on espn and he goes to his boy hood home and it is so run down now and you can tell that the town has become low income since his day lol! Looked like a home off of boys in the hood.

I have worked in PA for years and I worked with a couple young guys from Aliquippa . Very tough town a smaller Steubenville in many respects. Tradition rich as they get when it comes to football . I know they and Beaver Falls battle every year for the WPIAL . I just think this is such an interesting matchup that would be most years very enjoyable to watch . Im not real sure other than Revis who Aliquippa has in the pros. I know Ty Law was another guy from there and Tony Dorsett I believe was either from there or has ties . There are several others as well . Just amazing how many pro athletes have come from there . i believe they even had a pro baseball player. Ill be willing to wager that Aliquippa has had more pro football players come from there than the city of Youngstown . I may be wrong but it is amazing . Im not talking about 3rd stringers either . Im talking about the cream of the crop . Id be pulling for Aliquippa if these two teams met .

I would have to put my money on Ursuline, due to the fact that they have such a large recruiting base.

I remember when Revis was playing for them "Aliquippa" about 8 years ago they were something I think 16-0 and they have won a few state titles since then . they reload . It would not be a walk in the park . Aliquippa is a very tough town . Google them and see all the pro athletes they produce . I will give Ursulin the edge these days ,but i would love to see this matchup . Have these two schools ever played?

I believe the Quips have 3 current NFL players . They are also home to the greatest college basketball player in history ,home to MLB players and a few NFL hall of famers . It is truely incredible with a town just under 10,000 . I am a big Aliquippa fan . Something in the water must be majis when you have Mike Ditka, Tony Dorsett, and Pete Maravich coming from your town and its a town that is so much like Y.Town and Steubenville with it being a rust belt broken steel town .

Pete is the man! Just something about that small rough tough town atmosphere that produces hard nosed never say die kids! Love it! I wish all kids would have the killer instinct and drive that these guys have! Might only have 10,000 population but you can bet that the whole town shuts down for Friday Night Lights! The community backing in these small towns is amazing!

and who played for them is irrelevent. It's about right now! Ursuline is an elite football program in all of Ohio. I know the quipps are a good hardnosed community, but i'm a homer and would pick URSULINE 10/10

aliquippa is a very small public school. they are really a class A school but in pa. you can play up so they play class AA. a big difference in ohio where teams who really have a D1 team play down??

Its just my curiousity. Its not a slight . If you dont want or know who they may be then fine. Alliquippa is a little bigger than Ursulin is school size just so you guys know . They are small but tough as nails . Do not take them lightly .

This would be a great matchup every year. I would give at least 50% of the wins to Aliquippa. Some of you guys have those Ohio colored glasses on and are just misinformed. The top programs in Western PA are just as good as the top teams in Ohio. If you think elite teams in PA couldn't put one on Ignatius or whoever you think is the class of Ohio half of the time, you are probably wrong.

2002 i follow pa. and there big schools could hang with anybody but in there smaller divisions there are very few private schools.clairton in class A has the longest winning streak ever in WPIAL history plus have threepeated as state champs. they brought a very good team up here 5-6 years ago and were soundly beat by DIV.6 warren jfk.remember with the decline of the steel mills these small western pa. towns have been hit as hard as the NE ohio towns.

Exactly. I agree, and my point is there is great football on both sides of the imaginary line that is the border. The people that think that a program is somehow lesser because there is a "Pa." after their name are clueless.

As far as the smaller schools, there are not very many elite teams in either state, but I would guess more reside in western PA than eastern Ohio.

I lived there for 30 years and the last 9 in Ohio so I am very familiar with both states. My only point is, flip a coin on which would win a matchup.

The only thing that bother me is, Steubenville has not had much luck beating Mooney, but Mooney beats Ohio D1 teams regularly. Steubenville could do the same, but when Steubenville beats Woodland Hills, Gateway, McKeesport or any other AAAA team from PA, people love to put them down like it matters less than a D1 from Ohio.

It's just clueless. A smaller team is a huge disadvantage and they still have a chance against ANYONE in Ohio. As a Steubenville fan, I like their chances against Ursuline moreso than Aliquippa. That tells me all I need to know.
