A scaphoid/navicular fracture is not a run of the mill hand or wrist fracture. Even with surgery takes significantly longer to heal than 98% of the fractures out there, and if doesn't heal properly could be career threatening. there is NO WAY they risk his NBA career by letting him play any time soon. How much that effects their overall chances we'll see--my guess is significantly. I'm an OSU fan, but would love to see the Bobcats with the huge upset.
I don't know much about it, so I'm just passing along the info that I have been reading. The fracture to the scaphoid was supposedly in the "best possible location". The injury was stabilized with a screw and supposedly the medical staff thinks it's possible that Marshall could play at some point. That said, if there is ANY chance that it could jeopardize his future, Roy Williams absolutely will NOT let him play. I know Roy wants a title, but he never puts his or the program's accomplishments ahead of his players' well-being. I think there is a 0% chance that Marshall plays tonight, and that percentage probably doesn't increase for the next round IF Carolina advances.
