Yes and Fab Melo is physical enough to cause problems for Sullinger.

Not sure its that much of a surprise. Seth Davis SI pre NCAA article actually alluded that this could be a possible matchup if Duke falls to a #2 seed.

Who knows. OSU has faired really well vs zone when teams tried this year. Thomas / Sullinger high low has been very effective. Sullinger is so good at finding the open man and he and Thomas work well together. Gives Buford time to set his feet as well.
Again, if you make it to the elite 8, you are going to play a damn good team at that point. If I had to pick a top seed to be in, it would be MSU. But that wasn't going to happen. So 'Cuse would be my second choice.

He was being sarcastic...

People predicted UK/Duke in the same region, along with Sean Woods factoring into that bracket (MVSU vs UK likely in round 2) for a while...

Didn't seem to bother Sullinger when he played against the Plumlee brothers or Young from Florida, Morris from UM and obviously MSU interior defense. The Big Ten is much more physical conference than any in the country. That is only going to help him going into NCAA. This weekend, I saw Sullinger crank it up a notch that I hadn't seen since early in year. I am much more optimistic after watching him play this weekend than I was a couple weeks back.

I would think the opposite, because you're going to get refs from out of the area who will call a lot of what they let slide in the B1G. Since Sullinger is quite stubborn about changing his game to how it's being called, he could be in foul trouble fast.

I agree. Fab would just have to stay out of foul trouble and he wasn't Big East DPOY for nothing. He's a 7-footer and he runs the floor quite well, takes charges, alters/blocks shots, etc. Buford would be my main concern. If he's knocking down the 3....OSU wins. If he's not, I don't see OSU beating Syracuse should they meet.

Seems like a lot of analysts are picking Syracuse to lose early. I actually like that rather than everybody singing their praises.

Have to give you major props on the Sean Woods/Mississippi Valley State and Western Kentucky first round calls for UK. Haha.

Maybe so. But he will get more calls then he does in the Big10. On top of that, Big10 teams are familar with him and how to defend him. The nice thing about the NCAA, is ur playing new teams that are not familar with eachother. Makes a big difference.

Only thing about the Cuse is they struggle to find O sometimes. They have great depth, but no lead dog. Saw it a bit against Cincy. That said, I'm nitpicking and they only lost twice for a reason.

That's true when they're forced to play in the halfcourt. As Hubert Davis said earlier....someone else (most likely Joseph or Jardine, maybe Triche) is gonna have to step up and help Dion Waiters with the scoring. James Southerland will also be an x-factor for the Orange. If he can contribute offensively, that would go a long way in the 'Cuse making it to New Orleans.

Yes, but very small.

Dick Vitale and Digger both have Vandy/FSU in the Elite 8. Based on that, I'm feeling good about OSU and Syracuse chances.

Two things that suck:

Memphis-Saint Louis. Both of these teams are capable, but one won't make it past the second round. Memphis should've probably been a 7 or 6.

New Mexico-Long Beach St. Heading into the tournament, I was all aboard the Lobo bandwagon - I think this is a team that's ready for big-time and watching them in the Mtn West tourney solidified that thought for me. And then they go and put them against LBSU, who could easily be this year's Cinderella. Damn you committee.

The same logic has Sullinger shooting 20 foul shots.
