Doesn't appear that the vcash reset properly, everyone still has their old amounts.justincredible;1099314 wrote:vcash is reset. I agree about the blogging, it has sucked so far, but could be a great feature if actually used. I'll blog about the Reds.
Anyone want to take on the Indians? Maybe some March Madness action and the NFL draft stuff.
How long do you run it this time, to World Series? Then maybe do a shorter one from there until the Super Bowl (you get NFL, NBA, CFB in there)

As LJ suggested, if you want to do a recipe/cooking forum, I'd be happy to moderate. I'd be happy to blog about the same topic, too, and I'll try to do a better job than I do on my own lol. I'm actually getting ready to try to do some recipes using some Ohio ingredients. I'm switching jobs after next week so I may actually be able to string together a coherent sentence.

So cmon Justin, get on this.se-alum;1100138 wrote:I think a recipe/cooking forum is a great idea!
We need to get a few of things organized. Anyone have anything they wanna post on the blogs that's grinding their gears? I definitely have a few recipes I could post up immediately in a recipe forum.

I'll put some stuff up today. Has anyone messed around on the test site yet?

Another thing, start some threads that you think will create some discussion. I've been trying to start threads that I think will get action and they've done pretty well.

I'm fiddling with the new site now.
It would be great if we could get Upper90 back here to do a Columbus blog or something. I always find him entertaining.

Would it be feasable to run an NCAA tournament bracket through the pickem stuff you have set up on here?

Yeah, I think we could. That would be cool.ts1227;1103768 wrote:Would it be feasable to run an NCAA tournament bracket through the pickem stuff you have set up on here?

Alright, so I've been playing around with the drupal part of the current site (not the test version). I've added the ability to add events and show a calendar (http://www.ohiochatter.com/calendar). I can't decide on how to do the "recipe" section yet. Make it a forum or make it a piece of content that someone can submit through drupal.
Also, I've recently added a section to submit Reds based meme photos on http://redsfacts.com (upper right corner of homepage). Do you think something like that would be worthwhile? I know we do a lot of meme's stuff here. Also, it only took me about 10 minutes to add it.

In terms of timeframe, selections are next sunday... First four games are 2 days after that. First full round is that Thursday.

After further review, the Pick 'em module is just for league pick 'ems. Not tournaments. Fuck.

I really don't like the layout of the test site. It's just not appealing to me.

Ya, ove seen the forum layout on the new site and I feel like it is a step back. Looks like Vforumz circa 1999

The only place I dislike it is once you get into an actual thread. If you don't enter anything in the subject line for a post it duplicates your post in same font. Personally I'd remove/disable the subject line for individual posts, or at least default it to if you leave it blank it just reposts the thread title as the subject. If it stays, at least bold it so it's obviously separated from the text.
I'm kind of meh on the rest (no strong opinion either way). It may be alright once a color scheme is added.

That isn't how the final design is going to look. It's a test site.

Playing around with some color, how does this look:

Not final or anything, just trying some stuff out.

Do you guys think I should add a background color/texture to the new site, instead of just white? I prefer the minimalist look of the white but I am definitely open to adding something.

I think depends on the rest of the look of the site. It could be too distracting or it could look really good.
