I have heard of this one. I remember it due to family that live in Memphis.

So dumb.

And then increase the bullying? If a kid tells on a bully it just reaffirms to the bully the kids "pussyness". The only way to deal with a bully is to stand up to them. And that doesn't include a gun.

Guys we are talking thousands of years of this behavior going on. Kids wanting things they dont know how to get them, so they turn to what they know, picking on others to make them look good. Heck, some adults never grow out of that phase. Since the beginning, humans have picked on the weaker of the group. Thats why you see clicks, security in the herd mentality. Parents, teachers, administrators, politicians and those that enforce our laws must stay vigilant and watch, but kids will still do it. They are good at hiding it to. Kids, especially teenagers dont want to admit their weaknesses to adults and hide it.

Keeping these instances fresh in our minds and consciously looking for signs is what we can do to help.

On most days, my school... At least when I get there in the morning when everyone else does. Granted, I work at a small country school where people leave their doors unlocked still.

Edit: The houses unlocked thing isn't necessarily true. I just wanted to paint a picture of the environment I teach in.
