Agree with this. I hate when we see the player on the phone and we know the pick before the commish gets to the podium...

I love seeing the player on the phone seeing his reaction as soon as he knows he has been picked is pretty cool. I just hate that it is on Thursdays now I really wish they would go back to Saturday and Sunday. It was always awesome getting up early and haning out with friends watching the draft.

Wish they would put them on camera AFTER they were picked.

Putting the draft on Thursdays has messed with a lot of the "draft party" atmosphere. I see one of the Browns Backers up in Cleveland is having a draft party on Saturday. Would imagine that would take the fun out of it watching rounds 4-7 instead of the 1st round.

It does take away the draft parties with it starting on thursday night.

I usually hoped that saturday was always cold, rainy and just shitty out so I could justify not doing anything and watch part of it. I never really sat and watched alot, but if the weather was bad I watched more and didnt feel bad.

I think i read whre the ratings were skyrocketed with it being on a thursday night in prime time. I know I watched more of it last season than in most because saturday afternoons in the spring...always just had too much going on to watch much of it

Well....found some of these comments interesting from the second two scouts...
2. ROBERT GRIFFIN III Baylor 6-2½ 223 4.36 1
Recruited by some schools as a WR or safety but signed with Houston coach Art Briles as a QB and then followed him to Baylor. "Very impressed in every aspect," one scout said. "Athletically, which is a given because he was a big-time track star in the state of Texas. He carries himself very well. A tremendous leader." Fourth-year junior led Bears to 10-3 season in 2011 and 22-18 mark overall. "He's phenomenal," another scout said. "He's going to need technique work and fundamentals. But you cannot lose the fact that he's got feet, touch downfield with accuracy, a strong arm. He's charismatic and smart as (expletive)." Hails from Copperas Cove, Texas. "Everybody is just assuming because of the Heisman and the socks and all that bs. . . . they are ignoring a lot of bad tape that he's had," a third scout said. "I don't think he has vision or pocket feel, which to me are the two most important components of quarterbacking. He's just running around winging it. He's (Michael) Vick, but not as good a thrower." Finished with passer rating of 110.1 and 2,254 yards rushing (33 TDs). "He has better arm action and is more accurate with his deep ball, but he's not as good as Cam Newton," a fourth scout said. "As much as is written about his athleticism, his athleticism under duress in the pocket isn't even close to Cam Newton's. This guy, the only way he gets big plays with his feet is if he's got a wide-open field and the sea opens for him. He's got a little bit of a selfish streak, too. Everybody was laying on Cam, but for some reason this guy has become gloves off. He doesn't treat anybody good." Another scout also questioned the way Griffin deals with people.

I'm surprised more people haven't been questioning RG3's chances of being a bust...I personally think he'll be pretty good, but there's usually always SOMEONE in the media who doesn't like a prospect...we have 2 this year.

I don't think RG3 will be a complete bust but I just don't think he will be that successful in the NFL.

I'm not in the media, but I do. All of the sudden RGIII is "bust-proof" because Cam had a good rookie season. Logical thinking right there.

smh...

OH, MIKE ADAMS... So, this will surprise exactly none of you, but evidently Mike Adams failed his NFL Combine drug test. While NFL draft analyst Mike Mayock said most teams don’t consider marijuana use "as big a deal as it was 10 years ago," it's still frustrating if you're a fan of Mike Adams, which I definitely am.It's 4/20 after all, so I suppose this news was ripe to drop (along with the epidemic at Oregon), but ultimately, Mayock is right. You have NFL GMs that attended Woodstock and grew up as boomers -- the first generation to regard marijuana as the harmless drug that it is. Still, Adams knew this test was coming and if it costs him a round in the draft, this will go down as the world's most expensive weed.

Saints are either a) the dirtiest franchise of all time or the b) dumbest franchise (the only one to get caught)

So during their SB? Wow.

I dont know if they have an ability to hear during halftimes. But they were kind of all over that onside kick from the Colts...
