The NFL has done just fine without "America's Team" being consistently good the past 15 years

That's true. Makes you wonder if they're actually "America's Team" anymore. I don't think they are. But anyways, please let me know which other teams besides the Giants the NFL loves more than the Steelers so I have a heads up when Pittsburgh will have to overcome questionable calls against an opponent. I know there are more than just the Giants. Thanks in advance.

Ive heard of Steelers fans actually claiming to be the new "America's Team", so maybe they are the new one.

There only other team (besides NYG) the NFL loves more than Pittsburgh is New England. See: tuck rule. As long as you arent facing either of those teams, you should be alright.

Nice to see the officials gift wrapping games to Pittsburgh again. Worst holding call ever cost the lowly Chiefs 7 points and the game tonight.

Yeah because that blocker needed to have his hands attached like that for 15 yards after the player had ran by him. It was his own fault for giving the ref the opportunity by holding on that long.

Everyone wanted the replacements gone......here's what you guys all hoped for.

Couldn't have happened to a "nicer" person (Ben). And I still expect him to play against the Ravens this week.

Early diagnosis is sprained shoulder, no other details. I think it's safe to say he won't play against Baltimore, let's hope thats all he misses. The thought of Leftwich starting for more than 1-2 games scares the hell out of me.

Especially since the odds of Leftwich being healthy for more than 1-2 games is pretty slim, which means they'll have Charlie Batch (who's gotta be pushing 70) as their starter.

I'd say they need to sign a QB in the coming days.

Just got an ESPN notification that the Steelers fear that Rapistberger has a significant injury and it is going to take awhile to heal. Not sure if this is just them being dramatic, but if not, poor rapistberger .

Am a steelers fan here....and I tell ya what.....if they were not playing the worst NFL team last night there is no way they win. They got so lucky on some things...got calls to go their way, and still almost lost.

BIg stretch for the steelers......cannot oafford to lose 2 of the 3 games but will happen if ben isnt at the helm.

Main thing to hope for is that a week of actual first-team practice will shake the rust off Leftwich (without shaking at least one joint out of its socket, too). At times, he looked solid last night, getting good 10-15 yard passes down the field. At other times, he looked way off.

It is a bad time for Ben to go down, though...right before the two games with Baltimore in a three-week span.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet #Steelers are bracing for a "serious" injury to QB Ben Roethlisberger's shoulder, I'm told. The fear is that it's worse than a separation.

Had heard a rumor that this may be career threatening due to the severity. Still expect him to play Sunday.

So far I've heard it's a sprain to career threatening. Sounds about right.

I'm sure we'll here something more concrete later today.

You don't want to fuck around and actually win. You have a high draft pick to play for.

I hope so, otherwise Pittsburgh is effff'd. Roethlisberger was our only constant positive.
