He recruited Bosa and Anazalone hard to OSU at the spring game (both then committed), and flat out told insiders he was committing to OSU on Monday. Something changed his mind between now and then. Have to love recruiting, always fun when dealing with 17-18 year olds. Good get for ND.

Odd, because every recruiting insider other than the one guy at 11w has been saying it was ND in front for 2 weeks now. He was asked if he was committing to OSU this weekend, and his reply was "No, LOL".

No idea where you heard that one. Those 3 hung out at the spring game. But never was it mentioned that he was recruiting them to osu.

Hate to post prem info, but basically:

"Mike was the #1 guy recruiting Bosa and Anzalone...
he point blank told us--from his mouth to our ears---"I am committing to Ohio State on Monday"...."

Yeah this is an interesting one. OSU had Marcus Baugh (sp) commit (a TE from CA) without visiting out of nowhere earlier in the year. I doubt this took away Huerman's spot but it wouldn't surprise me if OSU only took one TE this year. He is a good pick up for ND, I wish him the best.

I agree. OSU was a clear leader unitl Baugh commited then ND came closing in.

The craziest thing about this class is that all of the recruits are a four-star recruit on at least one of the four sites. That's pretty awesome.

I'm not sure how accurate OSU being the clear leader is. Notre Dame was the first to offer and he said that meant a lot to him during the whole process. Also said that what really stuck out to him was how good of people the guys on the team are and that being able to trust the coaches were major reasons as to why he committed. Recruiting guys outside of OSU and Miami boards had been saying for a few weeks that ND was leading.

I don't care what they said. I'd make up something like that too in the event Heuerman didn't go to OSU and I didn't want to lose credibility.

OSU fans: "Oh WTF?!"

OSU writer: "Yeah I know!" (thinks to himself 'do I say I reported an untrue rumor and look foolish in a business that is all about being dependable and in the know...or just say OSU had one get away.') "Brian Kelly sure was a sneaky fucker here! I even wrote the story! This was a done deal this weekend. The kid may just not like competition with Baugh. Or he wants to film practice and die. Who knows..."

OSU fans: "Who would want to play in South Bend if you're from Florida?!? At least OSU is in the premier urban setting in the midwest..."

I can't be sure if they made up that he told them he was going to OSU. I can be sure everything you said was worthless and made up. They didn't put any spin on it involving Kelly, Urban or whatever other dribble you wrote. They just said he changed his mind, is a great kid, and it happens. Also said he did not want to be at the same school playing the same position as his brother in the end.

I didn't say they made it up. I said they reported on untrue rumors that someone else conjured up. It happens all the time.

Where did he say that?

The Bank? He is saying he had his commitment story written? His twitter feed says either it was too close to call or he thought it was ND. Buster's take seems more likely and Greene was reporting to fans just like zoltan it seems.

They said they had it straight from his mouth when he was visiting for the spring game, and he even told them it would be Monday. When that didn't happen they immediately said something was up, and it was anyone's guess where he would end up. My thinking is he got caught up in the atmosphere at OSU for the spring game, and then had a change of heart when it wore off.

Like most worthwhile recruiting info, there is no quote on the playing with his brother thing. That came from insiders as well. In my experience following recruiting the players totally lie in articles when they are speaking on the record. That is why people pay for premium, to get the real stories that don't appear in print. His brother sort of referred to it in his congrats tweet, saying something about him growing up and making a name for himself.
