Wasn't so true with Cook or Mullens. ;) When you are at a top school with talent across the board, competition where they are all talented. You better do something to seperate yourself from the others. Most top players have the offensive skill. What they lack is typically above the shoulders which translates to what happens on the defensive end.

Matta has to recruit more slow, soft very good 3-pointshooters.

Ross has made .250 of his 3-poiters in mop up minutes. This year he would shoot a lower percentage than that when the game is on the line. At this time I can't even imagine him guarding a 1st string 3 or 4 on a good Big Ten team.

Ravenel averages more rebounds per minute than anyone on the team. Shoots 55% from the field and 67% from the foul line and defends better. The only thing Williams does well is blocking shots, he has 19 in limited minutes compared to Sullinger's 20.

Williams averages more rebounds per minute, shoots a slightly better percentage, and turns the ball over WAY less.

C'mon, you just made half that stuff up.

Williams: .32 RPM .567fg%
Ravenel: .20 RPM .535fg%

Not to mention that Ravenel is a fouling machine.

2 fouls in 5 minutes at Minn
2 fouls in 8 minutes vs MSU
2 fouls in 12 min vs Purdue

just as an example

The conspiracy theorist in me says Matta does't play Williams more because Matta wants him to return and play next season cuz he knows Sully is gone.

Didn't work with Mullens, lol lol.

they will need Williams and his athleticism in the paint in the tourny at some point I suspect.

Williams should be the only one off of the bench for the 5

I don't mind Rav spelling for a blow with a lead (10+) but he's not an option for anything else.

With a lead yeah, but if Sully needs to come out in a close game, I would rather see Williams come in. at least being an athletic 7 footer he can rebound, play D and maybe score a few points. Ravenel is just gonna get a rebound, turn the ball over, then foul.

Yeah Rav is not good and I'd prefer to see Williams in nearly all circumstances.

Goes without saying.

Of course I dunno why Big Gain used rebounds per minute and then total blocks?

Sully has .02 blocks per minute
Sam Thompson has .03 blocks per minute
Amir Williams has .12 blocks per minute
