We can only hope it continues from Buford. OSU's next 7 games.

Michigan State
at Minnesota
at Michigan
Illinois
at Wisconsin
at Northwestern
at Michigan State

Will the Senior leadership continue?...It had better...

Hmmm am I the only one who looks at that and see only tough games or trap games?

Even though I'd love to win them all, I'd be okay with going 5-2 over the next seven games (btw, the Wisky game is at OSU).

I was half right that the boilers would come out pissed and play one of their best games of the year!

THis. I expect a hiccup at least once, maybe twice. Possibly both up north. 4 losses will still win Big Ten. This Sat game vs MSU is HUGE!

This game did worry me a bit, as I mentioned. But give Purdue credit, they did play as well as they could have. They were hitting everything. Any many of those shots were tough ones as well. Painter went small and created matchup problems. Although it hurt them on the other end as well. A game like this is expected every once in a while. And it only helps to know how to win close games.

He wasn't exposed. Purdue went small ball, and he was left guarding a guard on the perimeter. If that is exposed, every big man in the country would have been as well. Painter often went with 5 perimeter players. Although it hurt him on the defensive side as well. But he thought that gave them the best chance, which in this game, it did.
That being said, OSU was very POOR to stop dribble penetration as well as getting helpside defense. They were not focused defensively last nite at all. And once you let a team get on a roll, its difficult to stop them.

Maybe exposed was the wrong word. Abused might have been a better word.

While Sullinger's ability to defend on the perimeter may be on par with many big men, it certainly isn't on par with all big men. He is somewhat cumbersome and his defensive stance is too upright to defend on the perimeter. Perhaps, Matta should have tried a zone in order to protect Sullinger.

I think we go 6-1 in the last 7. Only loss I think may get us is @ Sparty. But I think we have a good chance of winning them all.

I'll certainly take that, but the game in AA concerns me...a lot :(

Davis is probably a lock for freshman and defensive POY honors. He'll also be in the running for national POY, but I don't think he'll get that one.

Has that ever been done?

Edit: The Wisconsin game is at home. Anything worse than 5-2 would be a major disappointment.

I don't disagree. But its not often the other team throws out a small lineup. And as I said, on the other end, thats right when Sully went to work and scored. Painter had nothing to lose and had to try something. A zone? Well, seeing as though OSU hasn't played one in over two years, thats highly doubtful. When they played a lot of zone, people were begging for MM. UP until this game, OSU had been playing stellar defense. There is no excuse for last nite defensively. They were poor overall, no question. But I am confident they will be ready to roll. As I mentioned earlier, this game, sandwhiched between Wisky and MSU was a concern. Just lucky it was at home. ;) But in the big picture, this game may help them. OSU hasn't had too many close games. Learning how to play in a close game means something. Positives on last nite, Thompson, Ravenal and Scott played quality minutes, and made plays in a close game. Ravenal had a HUGE tip in.
Now, we just have to PRAY Sully is healthy for MSU.

Yeah, I quick replied after reading that 1st post. Then I realized we just played @ Wisky. And then I saw your post.

And suddenly all of the stars were aligned.
