Its a big enough deal for you to come on here and tell us how bad it is and how bad our coach is though??? I would say it does mean something to you...

Oddly enough, I think there is alot riding on this game. It's going to be huge for one program or the other going into the off season. Neither team's going to the playoffs, so this is it..somebody's going to feel like their program might be able to turn a corner, while the other is going to have alot of questions to answer about what went wrong.

LOL. "Your coach" and "your RTR." Says it all. So transparent. You live here, put down roots here and had kids participate in the program...yet can't offer a single encouraging word. Wooster week or not.

Maybe he is still bitter about the fact his son never touched the field??

This is a very special week for Orrville and Wooster kids. Enjoy the week and do your work. If you have played in this game you always remember it.

Amen to that win or lose this is a game that will never be forgotten. To bad some people cant get over the rough year and just enjoy how fun this week is for Wooster and Orrville both. Hope it is a hard hitting clean game and everyone comes out healthy so we can all get ready for next years fun to come.

That's what I'm talkin' about.

For Series62 comment back to me: wrong......again. You go to all our games yet you hate. You hope we lose.

I thought 8 years of losses and the fact no one outside of Orrville and Wooster cares except (I doubt Wooster really cares) that it wastes space in the DR sports section would disqualify it.

So that makes it not a rivalry?

Dude......it dates back to 1903.

To the older folks in both communities, it IS a big deal.

I guess more of us have to die out to make it your way.

You obviously care enough to post on the thread. Most schools would love to have a 100 plus year rivalry. Sorry you don't know what that is like.

let me tell you something plenty of people in wooster care. And this is a big game for both schools. Don't really expect anyone who hasn't been involved with game like this to understand though. Especially from ashland.

One third of Wayne County's population resides in these two towns, so that makes this game plenty newsworthy. You don't like it, go back to the Ashland Gazette and read the hog reports.

Rivalry: a competitive or antagonistic state or condition...... WELL... This sure as hell hasn't been competitive in some time. And all time... I think we see the same...

Antagonistic... well it might sound right... but once you get the definition..."Showing or feeling active opposition or hostility toward someone or something."

A large group of kids from WHS and OHS were practicing together at the college before getting kicked off the field....

See what I'm getting at...

Not a Rivalry...

Kids now in the AAU generation don't "hate" kids from other schools like they used to.

Those kids you mentioned we're grads or current players?

Most were current. One or two alumni that I recognized.

I'm sorry that Wooster has never been relevant in football except for two years in the 2000's and during a small stretch in the 30's. That and Orrville always hands you your butts when you play. Especially the last 8 years. Congrats on the upcoming win though. You will beat one of the few really bad Orrville teams.

It may be one third of the population but like I said earlier... I doubt many of that population outside of Orrville really care. Wooster comes to the football game for the real show... The band. Game time doesn't start until halftime I believe that is the motto for wooster... correct?

Nice article in DR today from captains lunch. Orrville captain was qouted as follows,

"I think my team will win because of tradition, We are the better team no matter what our record is."

Well Wooster boys, I think the gauntlet has been laid down.

I don't go to all the games. That my opinion of what's happening on the field/court, etc, does not coincide with yours equates to hate in your mind, so be it. Therefore, it doesn't matter to me whether you win or lose to Wooster.

I'm not from here and I'm not caught up in your tradition. Sure, my sons participated in sports here, and we supported them, just like we support sons and daughters of our friends that play.

I offered encouraging words several weeks ago! Most on the Orrville thread agreed with them!

I'm not sure of that logic, but I guess we'll find out Saturday night!
