Lieb is 120, Dylan Scott is 113. Both are gritty.

I think its safe to say Spearman is a bit ahead of the pack, I don't see anyone keeping it close with him at this point, honestly. It could happen, hey, anything could happen, but if anyone could upset him, it would be Sparks, at the District or State.

Lieb was impressive, getting 4th at their home tourney the other week, seems to have been under the radar, same story with their 138, getting 2nd to Forridercruiser_96;1083628 wrote:Lieb is 120, Dylan Scott is 113. Both are gritty.

220 should be another nice weight @ watkins. #1 King DS #2 Marshall Lan seem clear cut favorites however there are six quality kids to fight for the remaining two spots, George WM, Rollo PN, Lacey CW, Smith HB, Fuller RB, and Ellison WHET. This once again should make for interesting early matches.

I'm looking forward to the 113 and 220 classes.....about as deep as you could hope for in a 10 team sectional. Also looking forward to a possible Boswell/Strope rematch (132)...should be seeded 1/2. Boswell won earlier this season when they tangled at the Marysville duals....however, that was at 138. Boswell's results have been mixed since the drop to 132.....should be a good one if it happens.

Entry grid is now up on Baums. 127/140 spots filled. Two observations, West. S. only 6 wrestlers entered and @ 113 no Canal Win entry. Did Barnes drop, injured, or try his luck @ 120 instead?

Have not heard about an injury.....do know that 113 was a pretty tough cut for him. Maybe they just decided to be well fed, strong and take their shot at 120?pantherdad2312;1085895 wrote:Entry grid is now up on Baums. 127/140 spots filled. Two observations, West. The two times I've seen Canal this year they didn't have a 120 so I would bet the latter also. This may be a good plan though at least to make Darby. Kids all want to go lighter but I've noticed when the cut is first made most seem sluggish, but dont seem to lose much when wrestling up one class. Better to make that cut earlier in the year and let thier body adjust IMO but some probably go with the mindset this time of year they only have to do it for a couple of weeks.Dad4Sports;1085906 wrote:Have not heard about an injury.....do know that 113 was a pretty tough cut for him. Agree.....Barnes has been 113/120 most of the season, so it was not a late cut. However, kids do continue to grow. So sometimes even the 2lb growth allowance is not enough. It is a VERY fine line to decide whether it is worth it for any kid to cut weight to that next lower class. If you cross that line, it quickly becomes a point of diminishing, or even negative returns.pantherdad2312;1085924 wrote:The two times I've seen Canal this year they didn't have a 120 so I would bet the latter also. Anyone know if crock pots are yay or nay at Watkins? I e-mailed the tournament director but thought I'd put it out there until I hear from him. Thanks!

I believe they are fine, but stay tuned on that. We usually have them in our team room, but I'm not sure if they work at the tables in the hallway.

From the link Mr. Holder provided....
"Crockpots, waffle irons, grills, and roasters are not allowed in the buidling. We need all the power we can get to run the tournament."

LOL After being Team Mom since 3rd grade for football and wrestling, I'm officially retiring after this year's banquet. It's been a lot of work, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.Cthelites;1086521 wrote:Can you be our Wrestle Mom?!

Zach's our only. It's going to be a very rough adjustment - going from being involved in everything to having nothing to do. I'm still working on coming to terms with that.
