Mayhem just asked for a rematch and Shields gave him a slight push but before there was any other reaction from Mayhem or Shields, Gilbert Melendez and the Diaz Brothers took action and all hell broke lose. Nick and Nate Diaz are thugs plain and simple and I am not surprised one bit they were involved so heavily!!
I couldn't agree more, like I said maybe Mayhem's move was somewhat disrespectful, but the reaction he got was 10x worse.

I really don't think there would have been an issue if Melendez didn't jump right in.

I don't think the UFC will sign Shields because he signed to be in the EA Sports MMA game.

I love Cesar Gracie's comments about the post fight brawl:
http://mmajunkie.com/news/18789/cesar-gracie-says-reaction-to-strikeforce-nashville-brawl-is-overblown-hypocritical.mma
"So a fight broke out at a fight. That's not a good thing, and I'm not condoning it ... but a lot of people are jumping on this because they're babies. The same night, they had an NBA fight. They want to talk about a fight at an MMA fight between MMA fighters."

Gracie disagreed with fans and pundits who said the incident could turn public perception against MMA.

"How would it be damaging?" he said. "If you're a sports fan, you're used to seeing fights all the time. It's really, seriously, a bunch of pussies latching on to this and trying to make it a bigger deal than it is. Is it a good thing? It's not a good thing. We're sorry. Everybody involved has apologized.

No offense, but 90% of the MMA fans out there today, wouldn't be fans if it weren't for Dana White.

Yes its the Fertitta's money, but DW has been the one that brought the UFC and the sport of MMA for that matter, out of the ashes it was in the late 90s.

We would not have the sheer number of shows to watch now that we do without DW.

Is he an idiot at times? Sure
Does he need to show more "respect" or "cuth" at times? yes

Is he right a lot of the time (and in this case too)? Absolutely.

I'm not a big DW fan, but anyone who has followed the sport since the early/mid 90s knows what he has done for the sport.

Dana White says eventually the WEC's 155lb division will move to the UFC:

Also Faber v Aldo this weekend in the WEC's first PPV. Going camping Fri - Sunday this weekend, first thing I am doing Sunday when I get home is trying to find the Aldo/Faber fight video. If someone finds a video link after Saturday nights fight please PM it to me that would rock.

Exactly.

Is Dana a douche at times with respect to any MMA org outside of the UFC? Yes, but its a business.

Does Dana at times go way over the top? Yup.

Would those that hate Dana White be able to watch MMA fights for free and on PPV right now if not for Dana White? Not at all.

So, the man maybe brass, he maybe an idiot at times, but the same fans who "hate" him, wouldn't be fans of MMA right now without him anyway as the sport would still be sans TV coverage.

I hate Mayhem. He isnt a great fighter (hes an ok fighter) but runs his mouth more then Rampage and Rashad combined. He needs to just go to the WWE.

I just can't picture too many people buying tonight's WEC ppv. I probably would if it wasn't 45 bones.

It's a shame too, because besides the disappointing main event, it was one of the best MMA cards I've seen in a long time. Blows away some of the latest lackluster UFC cards. Not to mention the Garcia and Sung Jung fight, which was on the under card, is one of the best fights of the decade. Rogan said it was one of the best fights he has ever seen in his life.

I'm a huge Faber fan, but that should end all talk of him fighting Penn. Aldo destroyed him and completely disarmed any type of game plan Faber had.

I got the WEC card last night & it was a very good card other than Aldo destroying Faber's lead leg & dominating him the card was lights out. Garcia vs Sung Jung was a street fight to say the least.
