Sitting here enjoying online for free, girl is in bed getting some me time. Few things from me: Phil Davis is about to be put on the fast track. Munoz coming back to stop Grove was fun! Hughes destroyed Renzo's leg, brutal leg kicks! Edgar was so quick and light on his feet, he was fantastic beating Penn with great movement. Stand up busted Penn up got a few takedowns, Frankie is your new 155 champ. Watching Silva now.....

I don't think Edgar will be champion very long. In fact I would guess BJ will get a rematch and beat him. Silva is the man but damn I was getting bored with that fight. They better do the GSP - Silva fight.

Missed this PPV event, I usually watch online for free or head out to BW's if a lot of people want to check it out, but wasn't able to catch it today.. Kind of disappointed because I love watching Anderson Silva...

From what I read about this event, Silva really needs to learn that fans want to see great performers TAKE OUT their inferiors...not dominate them, but showboat instead of finishing them; and then lose all interest in fighting and dance around to win a decision.
I'm looking forward to Silva's eventual fight with Sonnen. Just because you know that Sonnen will talk so much shit about Silva that Anderson will be in "send a message" mode for once.

I loved what Silva did to Forrest in his last fight.. Absolutely hilarious..
But I do agree. He's so dominating that I think he tries to give himself a challenge by showing the other guy up..

LOVED Penn losing. Penn is basically Anderson Silva without all the flash.
I am a HUGE Anderson Silva fan, but man his last couple fights (minus the Griffin fight) have been horrible. I love the dancing around and basically saying, "you can't even touch me and I am so good that I am just going to toy around with you" but if he is going to do that then he better knock the guy out; not let the fight go to a decision.

Again Silva left me angry! Instead of just putting the guy away I bad to sit and watch 25 minutes of dancing with the stars!! I don't get the Anderson Silva of late??

My cousin and I hypothesized that he may be TRYING to get out of his UFC contract, other theories I read on Sherdog include that Silva might be in on a brazilian gambling ring and allowing the fight to go the distance netted him the most coin (i think it was a 7/1 or so odds of decision) all I know is, he is not the same Silva as before.

Tiny he is surely not the same fighter as before no doubt. I remember about a year ago the guy did talk retirement too, maybe he does want out. I know Dana White surely was not happy about what transpired in the cage last night:

Danas been saying everything from rumors of cutting him to having him be on the prelim cards or free fight nights now. Let's give him what he wants, feed him to a Mir or Junior Dos Santos at heavy.

Give Silva a real fight and he will show up. The man needs to be challenged and no one in his weight class right now is even close. Give Silva GSP, Mir, and if he wins thoughs give him Lesner and let him retire. I think Silva thinks it is dumb that he has to come out and fight guys like Maia who have virtually no chance against him. Why would Silva feel the need to go to
the ground with someone if they can't take him down or do any damage standing. His goal is to win fights (He does this better then anyone) his job is to have exciting fights ( without a challenge he fails at this).

I don't think Silva is trying to get out of his contract. He is just bored with the people he is fighting. I agree that the dancing needs to stop if he isn't going to finish the fight though.

Boom....Mind. Blown. Never even thought of that...but the way he looked last night and his previous fights, it's definitely plausible.Tiny285Joey wrote: My cousin and I hypothesized that he may be TRYING to get out of his UFC contract, other theories I read on Sherdog include that Silva might be in on a brazilian gambling ring and allowing the fight to go the distance netted him the most coin (i think it was a 7/1 or so odds of decision) all I know is, he is not the same Silva as before.

I guess anything is possible but my first guess is that he is just bored with fighting these 185'ers that have no chance against him. I wasn't that happy with the pay per view but I guess that is the risk you take when click purchase.
I'm still debating on whether the next ppv is worth buying or not. I want to watch Shogun/Machida 2 but after that the fights are on the weak side. Daley/Koscheck could be good though.

Yeah not really a ring per se but people think he's in on undergound gambling down there (its illegal otherwise) and apparently the underground gambling in Brazil is HUGE....so I suppose its food for thought. I don't buy the "bored" excuse. To me if I was "bored" I would try and end fights quickly as that is less boring than enduring 25 minutes of being booed by the crowd.Benny The Jet wrote:Boom....Mind. Well I guess he is probably in on the underground gambling then. Oh well hopefully he is done with the 185 fights and from now til he retires we won't have to endure another boring Spider fight.
Man the next ppv kind of blows lol. It feels like a long time until May 29th.

And people thought 112 was going to be better than 114. 114 doesn't have to do much to top 112 now.

Yeah 114 should easily be better than 112.

Well I missed this one. I was in Georgia playing chess all week and forgot with it being in abu dhabi and didn't consider the time and missed it. However after reading so post at both Sherdog and mmaweekly I didn't miss much. I thought this would be a good card. Another let down by Anderson. I am a big Maia fan though so would have liked to have seen him win. As far as Anderson vs Brock. It would not be close. Brock would destroy him. Brock would cut the octagon of, which many fail to do. Anderson could not stop a take down nor the vicious beating he would take at the hands of Lesnar on the ground.

I think Anderson just needs to fight at 205 for competition...but he will never lose at 185...
BJ getting beat was unexpected but not surprising..

BJ losing was pretty surprising to me but I also don't think he lost. I look at that fight about how I did the Shogun - Machida fight. Shogun easily did as much to Machida as Edgar did to Penn yet Shogun still lost.
Yeah, Lesnar would destroy Silva. He's just too big, strong, and athletic. I would say Silva could beat a few of the heavys on skill alone but not the big power guys.
