I woke my wife up screaming. I am a HUGE Silva fan but I was so happy when Wiedman KO'd him while he was taunting him.

That's as classic as when Machida KO'd Evans while Evans was telling him he hit like a Bitch.

I am talking more about prospective super fights down the road.

It's kind of like when the Pac Man went and got himself knocked out, suddenly the Mayweather fight looked a whole lot less attractive as opposed to when he was on that massive win streak.

Now that Silva has been knocked out I don't see mega super fights having quite the attraction as if he was still riding that streak.

I disagree. UFC isn't boxing. If you're still at the top (which he is still considered there even after this), you're still going to get big cards.

Pacman vs PBF would still be a near record breaking fight and both guys would make crazy coin. It's obviously not about that...

Also, Silva is 38...it's not like he's really looking years down the road. He's made plenty of money.

I don't know. Reminds me of Fedor getting knocked out. Suddenly it wasn't quite the big deal to see if the next fight would be when it finally happened.

I am sure a Jones/Silva fight would still be huge, but coming off a knock out it won't have nearly the hype it would have.

Fighting Weidman again isn't going to happen I don't think.

2 losses in a row to Weidman takes the wind out of any future Jones fight even worse than it is now.

I don't see Dana White risking that particularly when Silva seems to have no interest in the belt at this point.

I'm guessing the rematch won't end the same way.

Is silva gonna turn down the rematch. If so I think he wanted to give the damn title away so he could pursue fights with people like Roy jones jr.

I didn't watch last night, but I saw the highlight real this morning and that was pathetic. It's one thing to be an cocky asshole outside of the competition, but to literally let his guard down was just shameful.

He deserved to be KTFO'd after all the years of doing that.

Silva's antics finally bit him in the ass. Hell of a talent, but it was deserved.

Part of his game is disrespecting fighters and making a mockery of the sport.

He's not making a mockery of anything, he has done this whole career and people have called him brilliant for it. That fight was exciting and extremely entertaining. KEvin Iole always cries about stuff like that, it's part of his tactics to win fights. Maybe some people find it disrespectful but this is fighting, not tennis.

He didn't do it vs. Hendo, Vitor, or Franklin that I remember. He only seems to do it when he doesn't respect the other guy he is fighting.

Can someone help me understand where the "Silva’s desire to box Roy Jones Jr" came from? Did I miss something? I know this was also spoken about / alluded to during & after the fight, but until then, this was all new news to me. Is there some bad blood/animosity there? If so, how did it arise?

EXCELLENT article here about the Fight and Silva >> http://espn.go.com/blog/mma/post/_/id/18599/weidman-fans-deserve-more-from-silva

I think its the exact opposite. He loves and idolizes Roy and always wanted to test himself against him. At least that is how I understood it.
