I guess when the fox deal was worked out they were still only 3 rounds. The UFC on fox2 will still only be 3 but after that all five. B4 I think it was only 5 for title fights and number one contender fights. Dana also said that fuel can't get enough of the UFC ao they will be happy with the switch to five

sportschamps is right. Originally it was just title fights. Then the UFC urged the AC's to allow #1 title contender fights to be 5 rounds as well. Now it has worked to both #1 contender fights and main events.
Diego's excuse at the end of the fight was pathetic though, he knew it was 3 rounds, period. He knew it was 3 rounds the day he signed the bout agreement. So to blame a loss on the fact that the fight wasn't 5 rounds was pathetic.

I don't think he blamed the loss on that, rather said he wished it had been a 5 rounder because he had the momentum and I agree. I think he would have finished Ellenberger.jmog;1087945 wrote:sportschamps is right. Originally it was just title fights. I just watched the fight, and cannot see how you thought Ellenberger would have been finished if it was five rounds. He dominated 14 of the 15 minutes and Diego got his back by a pretty fluky mistake. Ellenberger wasn't hurt at all and didn't look to be gassed either.robj55;1087953 wrote:I don't think he blamed the loss on that, rather said he wished it had been a 5 rounder because he had the momentum and I agree. He was gassed, and taking a ton of punishment. He has faded in other fights too while Diego is known to get stronger.Zoltan;1091550 wrote:I just watched the fight, and cannot see how you thought Ellenberger would have been finished if it was five rounds. Yeah it was the momentum that had changed and Ellenberger looked pretty tired to me but it's no guarantee Diego woulda won but the 4th and 5th woulda been closer then the 1 st and 2nd round imo

I think you have to take anything said in the fight blog videos with a grain of salt because they are literally filmed right after the fight. The emotions are still high and sometimes (like in Nelsons case) they guy has just suffered serious head trauma.Raw Dawgin' it;1092067 wrote:watch the video, i'm not sure. Hopefully they can find a way to get a retroactive medical exemption so we see him back sooner rather than later.Fab1b;1092998 wrote:Diaz temporarily suspended by NSAC until formal hearing:
