I agree he was worried about getting hit, hell anyone would be worried about catching an overhand right from Rampage. BUT, he didnt act like it. He brought the fight to rampage. Rampage was the one who didnt throw any combinations, or bring the fight to Jones at all(even though he was the one who needed to close the gap due to a reach disadvantage)bigdaddy2003;909913 wrote:Just because Rampage lost the fight doesn't mean Bones wasn't worried about Rampage catching him but I guess I Wear Pants and myself are the only two who could see him worry. I'm not sure who will be able to beat him at this point.
Anyways as far as 136 goes I'm just really not that into the little guys. I have very little interest in Maynard/Edgar or Aldo/Florian. I just don't really care for Frankie at all and won't Kenny just try and take Aldo down and lay on him?

in this thread: not simply allowing your opponent to blast you on the jaw means you're scared.

If jones was scared then Anderson silva must be scared. How can he be scared when he was dropping his hands and daring rampage to come

Also one thing jones does good is keep his hand in front of his opponents face. When rampage would close in he kept putting his face/eyes into jones fingers

That's effective but I hate that kind of thing. Just like I hate straight kicks to the knee.sportchampps;910238 wrote:Also one thing jones does good is keep his hand in front of his opponents face. When rampage would close in he kept putting his face/eyes into jones fingers

So how much of a chance does anyone give Rashad against Bones?

Honestly I don't think he has much of a chance. Jones is too accurate and long. Rashad would have to show a lot more balls than Rampage and hope to get in close and catch him.bigdaddy2003;910436 wrote:So how much of a chance does anyone give Rashad against Bones?

I cant answer this without being biased. Rashad is my least favorite fighter in the UFC. So honestly I see him getting destroyed lolbigdaddy2003;910436 wrote:So how much of a chance does anyone give Rashad against Bones?

Rashad is not known for having balls. He laid on Rampage for 3 rounds, so i can only imagine how much he will want to avoid Jones lolAutomatik;910561 wrote:Honestly I don't think he has much of a chance. Jones is too accurate and long. I could see him dancing around to avoid him, but you never know.Hb31187;910563 wrote:Rashad is not known for having balls. He laid on Rampage for 3 rounds, so i can only imagine how much he will want to avoid Jones lol

Rashad has a little better chance than Rampage but not much, he might be able to take Jones down and he trained with him so he knows his weaknesses. Rashad is much faster and athletic than Rampage which is key, as no one has been able to match Jones's quickness. More than likely Jones would be able to keep him at range however and Rashad has never been a great striker. The only type of fighter that can beat Jones is someone who can stand with him and win, and someone who can keep the fight standing with their take down defense.

Being "worried" about Rampage catching him and being scared are two entirely different things. Of course Jones was worried about Rampage catching him with a good shot, who wouldn't be? Jones isn't dumb enough to stand there and trade blows with a great striker like Rampage. That's not who Jon Jones is. He's not a guy that will trade blows with you. He's a strategic fighter with finishing ability.bigdaddy2003;909913 wrote:Just because Rampage lost the fight doesn't mean Bones wasn't worried about Rampage catching him but I guess I Wear Pants and myself are the only two who could see him worry. The difference is, Jon Jones executed his gameplan flawlessly, again. Rampage admitted that Jones took him out of his gameplan and he got caught by doing so.
Also, Jones was the aggressor for most of the fight. He enclosed Rampage up against the cage a couple of times.
As for Rashad, he's literally the one guy I can't stand. He bitched out a win against Rampage when Rampage wasn't even 100%. Rampage almost won that fight with a flurry of punches. Rashad talks a lot of shit, but he acts like a bitch.
I thought it was funny when Rashad was doing all that talking last night and Joe asked Jones if he had any last words for him. Jones basically said "No" and just walked away. Rashad stood there with a dumbfound look on his face.

I suppose Rashad does have a better shot of beating Bones but I don't see him getting the job done.

I would like to see a Jones/Gustafsson fight later down the road as I believe in about 2 years Gustafsson could be a force. His striking his a hell of a lot more fluid then Jones's. Alex is also 6'5. Great of his back as well.

The reach is such a huge advantage for Jones. A guy this big might have the best chance to beat him. I also give Phil Davis better odds than anyone right now. I think Rashad is too short to get close to him. Machida might have a chance since he's so elusive and could get some counters in. But right now i think Davis has the best shot. He big, athletic and can wrestle.The_Crosby_Show;911678 wrote:I would like to see a Jones/Gustafsson fight later down the road as I believe in about 2 years Gustafsson could be a force. Davis is a poor mans jones. His standup is no where near jones.

That's not to say, however, that Phil Davis is not a good fighter, because he is. He's just no where near the fighter Jon Jones is.

Davis would get mauled, little stand up and he struggled to take Lil Nog down.Raw Dawgin' it;911682 wrote:The reach is such a huge advantage for Jones. I think it's going to take someone to just go out and try to maul Jones to death to beat him. With his reach and wrestling it's going to be difficult to simply pick him apart or hope to take him down and decision him to death. So I think someone who's capable of just pushing the pace and throwing a ton of punches might be the best shot. Of course this is a very risky strategy so who knows.

I'm thinking a lot of people need to tweet Dana and ask him to talk to Silva about moving up to 205 for the remainder of his career and fight Bones!

If someone is to beat him they have to match him on the feet, close the gap in speed difference and have excellent TDD to keep the fight standing imo.I Wear Pants;912102 wrote:I think it's going to take someone to just go out and try to maul Jones to death to beat him.
