MMA is on cusp of being one of the big sports like NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NASCAR, Golf.................MMA was down the list. They have steadily rose to just behind the last of those now this could push the sport and the UFC into uppers of elite pro sports leagues.

The first show on network TV the UFC will make sure it has as many big names as possible, it will be like UFC 100, or a New Year's Show.

There is a rumor out there of Brock vs Overeem to headline it, not sure how much there is to that though. Have also heard those two could be fighting at UFC 140 in December.

I don't see them putting Brock on any national television card.

He makes (and draws) sooooo much money from being on a PPV card. It's automatic. People will pay. Why would Dana miss out on all that PPV money?

Agreed but they might take the hit for the ratings, Brock is a house hold name and would draw millions of viewers for their debut show easily imo.

It would draw many more people to it. I think it would be a great ploy by the UFC to put a stacked card on network TV containing some of the sports biggest names.

The Brock effect to PPV buys is huge but another piece of it is that the PPVs after which he fights also get big numbers because of the momentum he brings. That just said think if he fought on a major cable network in front of a huge audience. It might cause even more fans to get into the sport and want to order the PPV's. Also Brock is exciting versus giving the main fight to someone like GSP or Silva where the casual fan might find boring.

That said I see it being highlighted by someone like Rampage or Forrest. Or even the new face of the UFC Jon Jones

How? I thought Overeem was no longer affiliated with the UFC?

Overeem was never affiliated with the UFC. He was affiliated with Zuffa and Strikeforce only.

From what I have heard, Golden Glory has decided to talk to Zuffa and handle business at Zuffa's direction and allow them to pay the fighters directly. This will open the door for Zuffa to bring the Golden Glory fighters back and sign Overeem to the UFC.
