IMO Diaz has a chance of winning by way of Matt Sierra, land that one big punch. I see GSP constantly taking the fight to the ground and controlling Diaz there for 5 rds, I hope not would love to see fireworks but GSP will grind out a victory by top position here.

Realistically Nick will have to win this fight off his back, GSP won't stand with Nick because of his boxing ability. Nick throws punches in bunches and walks forward at all times, GSP does not respond well to being hit. GSP will have to be careful on the ground because Nick has an excellent guard and submission skills. Nick will bring the fight to GSP unlike any other welterweight however and hopefully will make for an exciting fight(i've never seen Nick in a boring fight). GSP needs a good, EXCITING performance. People are getting sick of his playing it safe and fighting not to lose approach to fights. In the end GSP's wrestling may be able to neutralize Nicks game, but Diaz will fight wherever the bout takes him, not a game plan fighter.

Pretty well said. Diaz is no slouch when it comes to the sub game. But we have a few months til we can get serious.

GSP is a better wrestler and is stronger/better athlete. I think Nick takes the striking, BJJ, cardio, heart and chin categories. Only problem is that GSP has the ability to dictate where the fight takes place with his wrestling, that's the difference.

Overall Striking they are about even. Boxing no doubt Diaz, but once you include footwork and kicks they are darn close.
Overall Ground game I have to go with GSP as well. No doubt Diaz's straight submission BJJ is better, but GSP's submission defense is off the charts and so is his wrestling. BJPenn couldn't sub GSP off his back and he's better than Diaz in the BJJ world.
Cardio I find it hard to believe anyone can go against GSP on this too, he is a workout/cardio machine, plus through the fact that he is about 20-25 lbs bigger than Diaz and Diaz will have to carry his weight up against the cage or on the mat, Diaz will be the first to get tired in my opinion. However, Diaz's cardio is nuts as well, at best they are even here.
Chin-only thing that hands down Diaz has, he can take a beating and GSP has shown that he can not.

I see this fight being a highly technical ground battle...and on the ground no one at 170 can match GSP.

Not saying you're wrong about the ground game but GSP refused to jump into the guard of Jake Shields several times in their fight and Diaz is just as dangerous as Shields is on the ground. What makes this fight intriguing is that GSP has no comfort zone whether on the feet or on the ground. Diaz is dangerous everywhere, where as GSP knew he was in no danger on the feet against Shields.

He didnt jump in shields guard because gsp had a big advantage standing.

You want to see a fighter gsp has fought like Diaz watch bjpenn. Bjp has better bjj slightly lower boxing technique but much more power than diaz. Gsp had no qualms about taking bjp down.

Diaz is an undersized ww just like bjp too.

Henderson vs Rampage for the title was free here since the fight was in England.

I really hope Henderson wins tomorrow.
