wow Daley is explosive. I'd love to see him fight his teammate Dan Hardy, although i have a feeling GSP will be working both of them over within the next couple years

GSP is too dominant right now in WW. No one can really touch him, seems to be the case in LW(Penn), WW (GSP) and MW (Anderson). Those three are just dominating their divisions right now.

Thiago is a douche. Wasted half the round dancing and trying to bait Rashad. Why would Rashad even try to get into a punching match when he was absolutely dominating the fight?

I can understand Silva's frustration. was that an amateur wrestling match or an MMA fight? The only thing Rashad did was take Thiago down. He couldn't keep him down long enough to even attempt a ground and pound punch, he threw feather punches on his way in for another takedown and thats it. He didn't want to fight. he just wanted to wrestle. He just absolutely played for the decision.
I'm not even sure Evans landed a strike besides one body shot.
Silva was doing all that dancing and preening mocking Rashad to prove a point, which he proved to me, that Rashad had no intent to try to hurt him, he just wanted to wrestle for a decision. He had his hands down by his side and put his face right in Rashad's wheelhouse and he still wouldn't exchange.

Ehh... Stupid move by Silva but really Rashad basically was a blanket in this fight. Take downs followed up with nothing. 0 Sub attempts, Hardly any damage with strikes, I was not that impressed with Rashad really.
Thiago was equally unimpressive with those antics at the end. Neither of these guys can challenge Shogun/Machida

If Silva is frustrated by the takedowns maybe he should box. Who cares if the fans were booing, Evans executed a good gameplan, shame on Thiago for not adapting. Hes a BJJ Blackbelt but couldnt do anything on the ground.
He missed a golden oppurtunity when Evans lost his cool and played into Thiagos mind game, almost got him knocked out but Silva was exhausted from getting dominated the other 12 minutes of the 15 minute fight.
However, Rashad vs Rampage will be hilarious, Evans wont be able to muscle Rampage and if he was scared to trade with Silva wtf is he gonna do with Jackson haha.

Machida won't be champion much longer anyways. Once the rubber match with Shogun comes up he will be ousted.

In my opinion a take down followed with nothing but lay and pray or where the other fighter gets up immediately is really no different to me than when someone just grabs a clinch and throws no strikes. If Rashad doesn't want to punch, maybe he should wrestle...it's a two way street. I'm not saying it wasn't effective, I'm saying that he didn't intend try to do much damage, just smother Silva with wrestling. He was playing for a decision. plain and simple. it worked. good for him, but as a fight fan i was frustrated by his strategy, and i think Silva was frustrated because he has the spirit of a fighter and wants to fight.

This fight exposed Thiago's takedown defense in a big way. Rashad had a great plan and stuck to it.
If Silva wanted to punch he should have pushed it to get into a punching match. He wouldn't. He just stood back and let Evans continually take him down.

He couldn't hurt Silva on the ground, but he could get him there. He could have possibly hurt him in the standup because we know he has great boxing, but he was too scared to put his neck on the line to do any damage there.
I just didn't like the fight or his intent. He won the fight, i agree'd with that via MMA scoring standards, but he lost it with me and other fans i'm sure and he was hurt way more than he ever hurt Silva even if he took him down 15 times.

B/c once GSP gets you down he constantly is passing guard and doing a ton of damage with some of the most active and devastating ground and pound in the MMA world. I also agree with the result but have an issue with the way fights are judged and scored sometimes. In America fighters are awarded too much for take downs. I don't know. Evans could have done more but he executed a game plan and won the fight so I can't really fault him. Silva had a chance to win and he chose to act like an idiot. I'm glad I didn't buy the ppv though.
