I question how much you actually pay attention to MMA. First off this is Mark Hunt's Resume in MMA(Mind you he also competes in K1 where he did win the World GP in 01) but anywaysportchampps wrote: The UFC's Heavyweight class was clearly the worst the past 5 years. The last good fighter he beat was NOG in 2005
Brett Rodgers ( up and comer maybe in the top 10 in the UFC HW division right now)
Andrei Arlovski (washed up who was never very good to begin with)
Tim Sylvia (see Andrei Arlovski)
Hong Man Choi ( A fight made for show b/c he was so big)
Matt Lindland (wasn't even as good as Sylvia or Arlovski)
Mark Hunt ( have you even seen this guys resume its worse then some guys who fight locally in columbus)
Mark Coleman (Pretty good but toward the end of his career and a old style UFC fighter meaning someone who relied on one thing not a well rounded fighter of today)
Zuluzinho (has lost to anyone he has fought who is a real name)
Cro Cop (A good win at the time)
Tsuyoshi "TK" Kohsaka ( not very good)
Nog ( a good win)
In his last 10 fights he has fought only 2-3 people who were good at the time he fought them lets see him go against a top tier fighter every 1-2 fights someone like Lesnar, Carwin, or Cain Velasquez. Let me see him fight someone who is new school MMA someone who is well rounded hell id even like to see him fight Frank Mir stop with the up and comers and the 40 year old men fight someone in their prime.
In the last 5 years MMA is a totally different sport then it used to be. 5 years ago guys could either wrestle, box, or were good with submissions. Today there are world class athletes who do this year round as their only job and can wrestle box and submit each other. Fedor is the best HW of that time but is he still able to beat the new breed of MMA stars, ic ant awnser that becuase he wont fight them.
Gergard Mousasi- Easily Top 10 LHW, Considered one of the stars of the future for MMA(Only 24)
Josh Barnett- Before Steroid Issue, Widely Recognized as Number 2 HW in MMA
Fedor-GOAT at HW
Melvin Manhoef- While Better in K1 than MMA, This guy can KO anyone, evidence being the only person to KO Hunt, who is recognized with having probably the toughest chin in MMA
Alistair Overeem- Top 10 HW, Strikeforce HW champion
And to top that off, he beat a Prime Cro Cop and Wanderlai Silva. Now I will admit and say that he has not won a ton of fights but to say his resume is that compared to a Columbus Amateur is ridiculous.
Now for the Future of the division that you claim Fedor may not compete with.
Carwin- One ok win of Gabe Gonzaga. Carwin got rocked early in this fight and was losing but lucky for him he has KO power and pulled this one off but other than that he has beaten no one of significance would have/will be mauled by Lesnar.
Cain- Wow, talk about one dimensional. A Wrestler who has very little if any KO power. He has beaten Kongo who is a like a fish out of water when his back hits the mat and Kongo was killing Cain in the standup. And Ben Rothwell who is maybe Top 20 HW.
Frank Mir- I would actually like to see Mir Fight Fedor. Mir has top level ground game, good power/standup and has packed on some mean muscle.
Lesnar- The match everyone wants to see. A freak of nature physically. World Class Wrestler but his Chin has not really be tested by someone of Fedor Punching power. I would root for Lesnar in this fight because I like him but wouldnt be surprised if Fedor won.
Fedor will fight Werdum next, then maybe Overeem for the SF belt. I know Henderson has said he wants a piece but don't see this happening because I do see Fedor coming to fight Lesnar(assuming Lesnar ever returns) and cementing his legacy as the GOAT.

My fault Mark Hunt is a good fighter with a losing MMA record. Any fight that he has had with a guy with a good ground game he has been submitted. I mean hell Tank Abbott koed alot of people to. I mean the dude is a quality 5-6 with one win over Wanderlei Silva and Cro Cop. He is good at standup but has zero ground game. Both of those guys are one dimensional. The only thing Silva can do is run across the ring and punch. He is more of a show fighter then a true ring tech. I think he has like four submissions and one was from punching someone. Cro Cop also has maybe four submissons with one coming from punches. Put Fedor against an all around fighter of today and lets see if he truly is that great or just the best of a past MMA generation.

By the way the HW Division was the last division to really come onto the scene with all aorund fighters. Arlovski and Silva were both guys who used their reach and ability to lean on oppenents to win fights. (Kinda like most lame high school HW matches where the winner is determined by stalling or strength no technique) The Champions you mentioned were the guys who paved the way for todays fighters. Without those guys we wouldnt be where we are today. Taking the top people from each division isnt looking at who those guys were fighting. Five years ago fighters stayed with one camp today the guys who want to become great travel all over learning wrestling from the best wrestlers boxing from the best boxers BJJ from true martial artists.

Silva is a bjj blackbelt. Granted he prefers to stand and bang but he is legit on the ground.
I agree Hunt is one dimensional. I just took issue with saying hunts resume was weak when he clearly has probably fought more top 10 guys then anyone. Maybe I misinterpreted your post. If so I apologize.

You've lost all MMA credibility with this post and the one previous to it.sportchampps wrote: By the way the HW Division was the last division to really come onto the scene with all aorund fighters. W. Silva is a BJJ blackbelt, he's not one dimensional.
Arlovski has NEVER "leaned" on someone like a HW wrestler, not once. The guy is a dynamic striker with great sambo/submissions on the ground.
I'll give you Sylvia, but the rest of your post regarding Arlovski and Silva is just plain retarded.
Arlovski was the first HW in the UFC to be very athletic and very well rounded, his problem is his chin, nothing more nothing less.

Did you watch Arlovski fight Sylvia they leaned on each other both times they fought. W. SIlva might be a BJJ Blackbelt but he doesnt use it in the ring. His style is to stand and punch when was the last time he went to the ground in a fight. Maybe it is because people are afraid of his ground game but, i would have to guess he hasnt went to the ground in his last 10 fights unless it is to ground and pound after a punch. I have never even seen him attempt a takedown. Hunt has fought some of the best but is a one trick pony. I mean you can say that people like Tank Abbout have founght some good people.

Dynamite 2009 Dream v WVR results:

How about Aoki antics:

How about Aoki antics:
Notables Mousasi and Overeem win with rd 1 stoppages. With a hammerlock in place, and the weight of his body against Hirota's single arm, Aoki cranked the hold until the arm snapped. The match was immediately halted, though it was far too late to save the arm. Aoki stood up, and in a show of sportsmanship that would make Brock Lesnar blush, stuck a middle finger in the face of his injured opponent.

I think the Machida knockout needs to be a bit higher. That one of best of the best I've ever seen. It was like he just pressed a stop button on Rashad.

However Carwin vs Mir will be a nice consolation prize. I think Carwin is going to shut Mir's cocky mouth.
That should give Lesnar time to recover if he is able and set up Carwin vs Lesnar with both having victories over Mir.
