Also if gsp is perfectly comfortable with taking bj Penn down I think he will feel comfortable being on top of Diaz.

Scott Smith? Exciting fighter but below average when in the ufc and he was top tier strikeforce.
Samurai? Please he's old and is on a 4 fight losing streak.
Shamrock? Please.
Noons? No name to most mamaw fans and Diaz is 1-1 against him since leaving ufc.
Santos? Zaromskis? Denny? Corbbrey?

I will give you Daley he was the best fighter that Diaz has seen since he left the ufc. I was impressed with that fight. However until the shot that dazed Daley Diaz was losing that's fight in the stand up if I remember right.

You remember wrong about the Daley fight since Nick outstruck him 2 to 1, and you're not a good fighter if no one has heard of you? Good logic, Zaromskis was the Dream champ and Nick knocked him out in the first round, Santos is a tough vet and a bjj black belt who Nick subbed in about 30 seconds when it hit the mat. He may not be fighting overhyped UFC fighters because wrestling is such a predicate for success but he has beaten some very technical fighters, Sakurai is a legend as is Shamrock, although they aren't in their primes. GSP will be favored and rightfully so in this fight but Nick can win this fight standing or on the ground.

Fuck yes! Bas Rutten will be doing the commentary for the Pride fights in the new UFC game! Hopefully he's also a playable fighter. Like I said, everything is better with Bas.

I know zaromskis was the dream champ but again not the same level. Just because someone is a champ of a fighting organization doesn't make them top tier at WW. I honestly can't believe in the same post you call ufc fighters overhyped and then you overhype some dream and strikeforce fighters. I am a huge mma fan in general and watch any organization I can but comparing the level of talent in the ufc to that in dream or strikeforce at 170 is like comparing the NFL to the cfl.

Yes there are 1 or 2 great fighters in the other orgs but after those no other fighter in those orgs could cut it in the ufc. And for the most part even the top tier 1 or 2 from the other orgsswould be middle of the road at their weight in the ufc. The exception is HW in strikeforce obviously.

I only said they were over hyped because they are mostly wrestlers and wrestling is the most dominant way to win fights/decisions, they go out and lay on people and win decisions and people think they are amazing. Jon Fitch hasn't finished a fight in over 3 years and people think he is the second best ww in the world. The UFC certainly has the best talent i'm not disputing that but Strikeforce and other organizations have some very technical fighters not just wrestlers who grind out decisions. They don't possess nearly the depth that the UFC has and i'm glad that Nick Diaz is trying to challenge himself by fighting the best. Whether he wins or not is a huge question mark however.

I wasn't trying to over hype Strikeforce or Dream fighters just saying they deserve some due too.

Can't we just agree that we are all pumped for the fight and wait for the outcome? Ha

Wrestling is just as much a martial art and shows just as much skill as all the other arts. You are seriously down grading the technical aspect of wrestling. If it bothers the stand up fighters so much then learn how to get up or train better takedown defense.

I'm not trying to downgrade, I apologize if that's how it came across. What I meant was that wrestling is the easiest base to dominate a fight and win decisions with.

That is tough one but I am going with Pettis. I am more interested in the Ultimate Fighter match than I am for that fight though.

Tough fight to call, I like Pettis to win a decision.

As for the whole card, I'll take Nijem, Pettis, Herman, Kingsbury and Cope

What's funny is that Len begged Dana to be on this card, and he's not on it haha.
