I'll be honest, I'm not an AI fan so haven't listened to Phillips much. Every time I did, I could only think of Dave Matthews. Looked up the song they wrong for him, and it's very "Mumford & Sons" sounding.

A lot of his success with this type of music, though, will depend on his songwriting and not getting stuck with crappy producers trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Anyhow, I can jam to his stuff if it stays in the vein of the above.

I just read that it was the least watched finale in Idol history.

That wouldn't surprise me. All shows run their course and Idol has been going for 11 years. Moreover, the copycat/similar shows that have sprung up...America's got talent, The Voice, Xfactor....all have pulled people away. people are only going to watch so much...and then they get tired or bored.

All season they had the singing competition on Wed and the elimination on Thursday.....I missed Tuesday's final competition and the Finale sucked as bad as one I've ever watched.

Didn't watch the finale and like bigdaddy, I agree there is just something missing with Sanchez. I don't know if it is her age, her even more youthful appearance (my 12 year old looks older than her) or the fact AI hyped her up so much. I also agree about Phil's facial expressions and body twisting on stage. Looks like he is trying to take a dump on stage.
I agree about Jimmy being a breath of fresh air. We saw more standing ovations this year alone than we did in the first 8-9 seasons combined. I am sorry, the public knows the judges are FOS when they say half the cast gave "the greatest vocal ever on the show".
One last thought, I really want to see Jennifer Lopez naked.
