That was a fail post on my part. I think he will stay committed unlike some people on the Rutgers rivals forum.
He has 11 1/2 months to change his mind. If OSU rights the ship he'll likely stay committed. If there is a further meltdown he's not locked in.
If there is anything we learned this past recruiting cycle, these early commits have a tendency to re-open their recruiting.
Wasn't Anthony Davis committed to tOSU at one point in his recruitment?

Just sayin'

Q: Now that you can relax a bit from recruiting, what are your goals for your senior season?
A: My recruiting is done and now my preparation begins!
Love it!

Urban has quickly brought in Shut Down corners like we had in years past. Most everyone in the country rave about his offensive genius but his defense will be world class.

Big corners that if they grow some more would transition nicely into free safeties.

These guys will need to be ready to play right away as well. CB depth is severely lacking, and I have a feeling Roby only plays one more year at OSU.

Did you mention that the last DB OSU brought in from NJ turned into an AA Thorpe Award winner top 15 draft pick?

Did I mention he was only a 3 star?

Per Scout:

[h=4]Shelton Gibson is at OSU today spending the day with Urban and WR coach Zach and ever since his high school teammate Kyle committed to OSU, he's leaning towards OSU. Some speculating he will commit today![/h]

Hopefully it happens. One of the reasons I wanted Dodson was the chance it would get Gibson to follow. Not long ago it was all Auburn for Gibson, crazy how fast that has changed.

Also, can we sticky this thread now that most of the recruiting news will be for this class?

I laughed at the post that OSU has a long history of NCAA infractions and Recruiting violations.

There is a short history of actually meaningful NCAA infraction. But yes, there are a lot of minor infractions that OSU self reports. A long history? Nah.

And I might be unaware... but what recruiting violations has OSU had in the past 15 years (or ever)? Only one I can think of is with that European basketball player.

Olb Jaylon Smith ran a 4.4 & 4.46 forty time at combine. Blazing for a lb, need to keep rod smith happy and sign his brother Jaylon.

It would be awesome if we could get Jaylon but for some reason I see him ending up at Notre Dame (just because I think Rod will transfer). But with Urban you can never count anybody out because if there is one thing that is certain is he gets talent. Period.

Hall - Sr.
Hyde - Jr.
Smith - Soph.
Dunn - Fresh.
Ball - Fresh.

Ok that really doesn't mean anything. Hall could be assuming a hybrid role WR/RB. So he just has to beat out Hyde and a Freshman (Dunn). Ball could/probably redshirt since he isn't coming in until fall. Rod Smith was a 5 star out of high school I don't think he is going anywhere. He has all the opportunity in the world. Also the missing the plane thing was under the last regime and you really don't know what happened there.

Ohio State offered Centerville tackle Even Lisle today. I figured it we would have to pull the trigger soon because he started getting offers rolling in including Alabama.

Its kind of disappointing to me that Urban offered ten running backs and only one is from Ohio. I'm also surprised that DeVeon Smith is not a rated player.

Look for Shelton Gibson, Malik Zaire, and Evan Lisle to commit sometime over the next 30 days. I'm least confident about Lisle; but I think Gibson and Zaire will both be Buckeyes by the end of March.

In regards to the ratings, it's early. The still have a senior season to play. A lot can change.

From what I've heard lisle is allll buckeye. It's Zaire who might be at least thinking about somewhere else.

Zaire is the one I probably feel most confident about.

He retweeted a pro Ohio State tweet. Yes, I realize I am using/stating Twitter as "evidence," but I think it goes to show that Ohio State is definitely a favorite for him.
