This is why I think the Marysville sectional ends up the deepest. My guess is that 99.9% of the time, the host school is present at their sectional. Since Marysville will certainly be one of the top 3 teams - if not THEE top team - they will choose towards the end. Most will assume they will be there and will opt for that sectional. By choosing that sectional, you almost guarantee being on the other side.Dad4Sports;1061798 wrote:It will be huge where these guys wrestle sectionals.....random district draw (by sectional placing) will then be key
Can you imagine if CC, WN, TV & Mount Vernon end up at Marysville BEFORE Olentangy or Marysville pick!? Don't forget... Torti certified.
I seriously doubt it happens that way since it's basing selection on one weight class, and, should you get fourth, or even less at a sectional, it defeated the purpose altogether.
Selection is next Sunday, correct!?!?! ...and so it begins!!!

99% chance we stay home, but there is that 1%

...and that 1% is there for Watkins, Westland and Central. I think that is part of the fun; the suspense!

Is there any record of a host team going to another sectional?

Riley got First unseeded, and the bracket had 4 returning sq's and a state alternate plus him and wimer... say he was pretty raw pinning his kid quickly in the finals... Also it was a 32 man bracket with a few byes

Bigdawg,
"Please acknowledge that you have no ties with the Lancaster program. After this Saturday's disappointing performance at The Porter Memorial, I can assure you that NOBODY within the Lancaster program would feel warranted to make these statements. IF I am wrong and you are in anyway associated with the program, please see Coach Strope immediately to discuss team rules and expected behavior. My apologies to the wrestling community. Rastler.....
No ties, just a fan and I do apologize if it caused a stir. Knowing all of these boys and feeling like they were getting short changed was my angle, and I might have let my emotions get the best of me. So, just for the record, this statement was not made by someone within the team family nor had I talked to anyone from the team. Please accept my sincere apologies. Take care.

I don't see why one of these 106 pounders doesn't go up any of those 6 could get out at 113.

Because they all think they have a shot at winning the state - maybe a couple

I'll be brave, I think Nace, Wimer and Torti would have a rough time getting out at 13.

Riley might be the only one who could get out at 112. Al the others would struggle winning matches at the districts. Huge difference between 106 and 113

Agree with Nace....assume he is still eating everything in sight just to get close to 106?iGranby;1062834 wrote:I'll be brave, I think Nace, Wimer and Torti would have a rough time getting out at 13.

No ties, sorry if my statement caused a stir, this was simply a blind prediction with no real insight to the current team...I should have stated that in my original post....Hope this clears it up...I haven't talked to anyone from the team.rassler;1057879 wrote:Bigdawg,

So would Ramahni. Is he even 106 soaking wet?iGranby;1062834 wrote:I'll be brave, I think Nace, Wimer and Torti would have a rough time getting out at 13.
Agreed about Riley. i had him as the #2 113.
Spearman walks to a District title and places high at state.
None of those other 106 beats Sparks.

I agree I would say nace rahmani wimer give up too much weight there but I think gutierrez and riley could be 3/4 .

I would agree with the marysville kid having trouble making it out too, but its hard to argue since he won topgun, and the recent win (13-7) over the pick north 106

iGranby: those guys are talking about 106's moving up to 113 and still getting out. Do you think Ramahni could go up to 113 and qualify for the Schott???
